Gage

Amelia and I are currently on a walk to the pond in her neighborhood, where we are planning to have a picnic.

It is a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I really wanted to take advantage of it, so I decided to take her on an impromptu date.

As we are walking, I am swinging our hands back and forth between us. Occasionally, I will even nudge her shoulder playfully, and she will nudge back.

I like that we are able to be comfortable around each other like that.

Eventually, she ended up whacking my shoulder before screeching in my ears, "Look at the puppy over there!"

She was so excited about the dog that it was captivating.

Amelia takes my breath away every day, and I doubt she even knows it. I want to tell her, but I won't, not right now at least.

Some people may judge me for that, but I feel that because she is still getting used to having me around and touching her, I don't want to overwhelm her with verbal attention as well.

I was too lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice Amelia starting to pull her hand away until it was too late.

She had started running to try and catch up with the owner of the dog she had previously squealed at.

Now, I will admit the dog is cute. It looks like it is a Basset lab mix, but I would have preferred us going over to the owner together.

You never know someone's true intentions, and I want to keep my Amelia safe.

However, the annoyance I felt with her, melted away as soon as I heard her cooing at the little puppy like it was a baby.

"Come here Gage! Come meet Olive!" Amelia said while shooting me that dazzling smile of hers.

I don't know if she is aware, but there is no way that I could resist that smile of hers.

I am completely, and utterly smitten by Amelia Gardner.

So, I walked up to where she was, and got down on my knees, meeting the same level that Amelia was at.

I reached out to pet Olive, and she rolled over!

Was this cutie patootie asking for a belly rub?

I decided to appease the dog and Amelia, and began rubbing the puppy's belly.

After a few moments, Olive rolled back over onto her stomach before peppering my face with kisses.

Both the owner and Amelia were giggling at the scene in front of them.

"Gagey! The puppy likes you!" Amelia exclaimed, and my heart warmed at the excitement in her voice.

Pretty soon after that the owner had to leave.

Once Amelia and I stood up, I grabbed her hand and pulled her up next to me, never letting go.

We started back on our journey and every few minutes, Amelia would point something out to me in awe.

I will forever cherish these precious moments with her.
