Annie P.O.V

I pace back and forth. Walking from one end of the room to the other. The thought of the plan succeeding escapes my mind.
"How will we force Michael to give Jane the crown." I pant, as I have been pacing this room for a couple of hours.
"Maybe we can use a threat, or kill him" someone says near the back.
"Yes we shall do both...." I chirp, excitement creeps into my voice. "If we kill the king, and there is no more heirs then the queen will be ruler.....After the wedding she can hold a knife to his throat. Just imagine that." I pause.
"Wouldn't it be obvious it was her?" The same voice replies.
I look up and see it is Charlotte.
"So that means we would have to kidnap them, or hold them both hostage with a knife at their throats. Unless we show it as a sign of power, when she holds the knife to her own husband's throat."
"And we will have people on the guards as well." Charlotte says now skipping towards me.

We embrace in a hug.
"Don't you have work?" I continue.
"Yes, their dinner begins after dusk. And...The prince has already moved Jane to his table."
"Perfect, now go to work and get some more information for us."

Charlotte exits the room, now silences fills her place. I sit down and relax, taking in the silence that comes with it.

Michaels P.O.V

I stand in front of the crowd of ladies. Their eager eyes watching me.
"Good day fair ladies, dinner will be commencing in the dining hall. Please follow staffs directions and find your seat."

They all dispearce, heading down the corridor. Their chatter filling the building. I spot Jane walking towards the entrance. I try to catch up to her, but the river of ladies are blocking my way. She disappears into the maze of corridors and hallways.

I stand still the currant of movement going around me.

I hear a voice call my name. I turn to see adam appear again.
"Are you okay Sir " He questions me.
"She slipped right out of my grasp. I know there is three days left of the events and festivity, but I know she is the one. I just know." I sigh, realising how lovesick I must of looked.

"Who is she?"
"The girl in the cream dress. She's different. I can easily tell that but I don't know how."
"Well Sir, dinner will be commencing soon, and you wouldn't want to be late to the first meal with the ladies"
"True..." I hesitate on what to say. "We should go."

Walking with the ladies is easier the trying to go against them. I believe there is at least 100 of them. The lights get brighter as I enter the room. It is filled with a buzz of life. Girls are finding their seats. I have a seat at the head of table 1, like every heir before me. I walk towards table 1 at the front of the room.

I never realised how big the dining room was. I usually just see it from the doorway when my father has meetings. I continue to walk to the front of the room, girls continue to sneak a look. I chuckle at them. I stop a few metres short of my seat. The beautiful Lady is already seated at the table.

"Aren't you going to chat among the other suitors." I break the silence, startling her in the process.

"Oh...um..I am ok. Thanks-Thank you for the concern though." She looks around the room, clearly avoiding eye contact.

I haven't seen this side to her. I know I have not known her for to long, but she is intriguing. She is currently acting all shy, her face tinted with a pink shade.
Adorable.

She looks at me. Making eye contact.
"Pardon?" Her emerald green eyes piercing mine.
I don't know what I did. I wasn't focusing.
"Uhh-excuse me. I must go talk to the other ladies. I do not want to be rude." I barely scrape up enough words to save myself.
"Oh," She looks down at her lap. The cute shy side of her showing again.
Did you just call her cute? I mentally facepalm myself. The trails haven't started yet, and I am 'falling' for a girl.
"Of course, your Honour." She continues. "I hope we may talk again some time."

"Ditto" I smile down at her. Her cheeks a more vibrant pink now. I walk off, before I make a bigger fool of myself as well as embarrassing her in the process.

Adam P.O.V

Michael walks away from the girl. She seems to be on top of his list now. I am still a bit uncertain about her motives, or who she actually is. But there is only one way to find out.
Gossip.
"Charlotte." I yell out into the kitchen.
A girl with beautiful crystal blue eyes, chocolate smooth skin, silky black hair that goes to her waist. Her face lights up when she sees me, a smile coating her perfect face. She is a pure specimen of Beauty.
"Yes, Adam." She chirps, skipping down to me.
"I need gossip." As the words leave my lips she freezes in her tracks. Her eyes wide, staring at me.
She burst out laughing. "Never in a thousand years would I think you would be asking for 'The Goss'." She walks closer so no one can hear us. "Now who do you want 'The Goss' about? " she makes quotation marks with her hands.

"The Girl in the creme dress. Her name is Jane." Charlotte stiffens. I don't bother bringing attention to it. Girls are weird like that, so I just continue, "The prince has taken a liking to her, and as his friend I intend that she is right for him."I whisper
"Ok... I accept the mission." She gives me a small salute before running out of the room.

Now that she is taken care of, I can now focus.
I walk back into the now dining hall. I spot the Maiden in the creme dress sitting at her table. I walk over to her.
"Good Evening Fair lady. " I saw bowing slightly.
She looks up, obviously shocked.
"I am Mr Adam Baxter, Prince Michael's Royal Assistant and the kingdom scribe. I am sorry for knocking into you earlier."
"Ohh, Its ok Mr Baxter. I was just a bit shocked earlier." She gives me a genuine smile.
My thoughts race around like crazy in my mind. As if they were on fire. This isn't the same girl from earlier? It can't be.
But she looks the exact same.
She clears her throat. "Well, um, it's quite beautiful here.... If you don't mind me asking, why is there less electronics here then other kingdoms?" She pauses as if picking her words wisely. "I don't wish to disrespect the kingdom, I am just curious."
I wasn't expecting that. Not in the slightest.
"Umm, sure..ok" I stumble over my words.
"Its ok if you don't want to answer." Her words come out rushed.
"No, no, no. Its ok, I was just surprised when you asked." I control my thoughts as well as my ability to speak again. "Would you like to go on a walk, I can explain easier when there is less noise."
She smiles, standing from her seat.
"That would be nice, I kinda needed some fresh air anyway." She chuckles at the bizarre coincidence.

I lead her back to the garden. There is silence between us, but it wasn't awkward.
"We once had many electronics, our world consumed in them." As I answer her questions memories of my grandparents come across my mind.
I remember them talking about a world full of technology that it became sick. Many people are told this, it's in history.
"We believe the more electronics we have the more sick we become. I remember my grandparents explaining this to me. That's why we limit the electronics the civilians get, so they won't get sick.Unlike our ancestors who became slaves to these machines."
I look to my left, Jane looks as if she pondering on my statements.
"What if they have changed, what if they don't become sick anymore." She looks up to meet my eyes.
I think about this. I have never thought of what would happen if we were to bring the electronics back.
I sigh,
"Everything goes in a cycle, everything eventually gets reversed. That's just how the world works."
