Jane POV:

Walking out of the hospital I felt unease starting to form in the pit of my stomach. I had to meet Charlotte later tonight. I wasn't meant to have any contact with the Queens, but a messenger came in. I feel like this is a bad idea, but they kept pushing for me to meet her. So I will.

While I was in hospital, I have gotten a lot more information on the coronation. It has been moved forward, which means that our plans need to change slightly. Most girls will gush over him when he is king, and judging by his personality he doesn't like those type of girls. And this gives me more of a chance.

Why am i even other thinking this?

The gates of the estate are illuminated against the night sky. It would be beautiful and almost peaceful, if it wasn't for the shady figure standing beside it.

If I was any normal, 'well respected' woman, I would be running and screaming the moment i saw someone lurking in the shadows. But i knew it was Charlotte.

"A King rules with an iron fist, but Queens rule with their heart and mind." I say walking towards her.

I wait a little, seeing if she would reply. But she didn't.

Walking closer, I reach for my knives which were hidden by my bow.

"Hello?" I say taking another step towards the figure.

I am suddenly pinned against the iron gate.

"What were you reciting?"the figures face is now in the light. The scribe, Adam was holding me down.

What do I do?

If I kill him I would have to dispose of the body, bjt my dress would get blood on it. That would blow my cover. I could-

I was taken out of my thoughts as my head was hit against the gates.

" What. Were. You. Reciting?" Adam is now holding me by my throat. Choking me in the process. I think that was the point though.

Threaten him.

I smirk at this wonderful idea.

"I wouldn't-" he squeezes my throat tighter, causing me to cough." Do that.. If i were you," Wheezing, I smirk at his confused face.

"You're the one that's in a life threatening situation, Lady Jane."

"So? If you kill me, they will know. And then they will not only kill, but do unimaginable things, inhuman things to her." I look up, meeting his icy glare.

"Who" his grip loosens on my throat, allowing me to breathe easier.

"Charlotte" A cynical smile crawls onto my face, as his hand falls from my throat. "Now you won't tell anyone what happened, or else they will also be six feet under. Just like Charlotte will be."

I try not to laugh. I would never kill Charlotte. We are both apart of Queens.

"I won't," he glares at the ground.

"Now do you want to know what I was reciting?" I rub my neck. I can already feel a bruise forming.

He doesn't reply, but continues to glare at the ground.

"I will just tell you." I sigh, walking a few paces towards the house. "A King rules with an iron fist, but Queens rule with their heart and mind. Kings are seen as strong, and Queens are just kind. But we are more. More then forgotten. Kings may fall, but queens will rise. And when the last King dies, so does their Reign. With the fall of an Empire, a new begins. The Reign of Queens, and may she live. Long live the Queen."
