This is Chip in his twenty's. I am a receptionist for Jacks office . I never told my secret about my fear I have still. I have a family now.
I am married to Jack and we have a beautiful little boy named Lincoln Winston Parker. Our life have been great. Jack is a children's doctor. He is awesome. We still live in the town in and Sam still lives in the same old house and he does send us our 6mo reminders. Lincoln is 5 years old and soon he is going to his first dentist appointment with my brother. I hope he doesn't have the same fear as me. Which I still have. And now to start a day of our lives
I was still sleeping as it was summer vacation and Lincoln starts kindergarten in a month.
I woke up around 9:30 and went downstairs after brushing my teeth thanks to living with a dentist when I was younger and getting dressed.
I went downstairs and saw Jack waving one of my brothers reminders in front of my face.
Lincoln was sitting in a chair and eating breakfast when I saw his hand go up to his cheek. Uh oh.
"Daddy my tooth hurts" he whines
We did have an appointment for Lincoln today.
Lincoln had blonde curly hair and cute dimples. He was a short guy and I bet girls will fall for him.
"We are going to the tooth doctor today Lincoln so he will fix your tooth" Jack said
"When" Lincoln said
"Soon now go get dressed" I said to Lincoln
Lincoln races upstairs and gets dressed then comes back downstairs. I help put his converse on and soon we were off to my brothers office.
We got to his office and there stood many memories. When I was little. We went in and checked Lincoln in we sat in the waiting room.
Soon came out a happy sam and I chuckled Lincoln whimpered.
"So is little Lincoln ready to head on back" Sam said in a childish voice making Lincoln chuckle
"No" Lincoln said
Me as a great father picked him up. He hid his face in my shoulder.
"Hey hey Lincoln he not gonna hurt you he my brother he is an awesome guy" I say to Lincoln making Sam smile and we headed back. Jack was at work sadly so I was the only daddy there.
We got to an exam room which was very colorful. "Sam why didn't you take me to this when I was little" I chuckled
"You weren't young enough Chip you are so childish" Sam laughs
I put Lincoln in the chair and he would not let go. "Come on Lincoln he won't hurt you he will fix your sore toothy" I say
Then Sam looked at me. "Do u brush his teeth or does he?" He questioned
"He does Sam" I said
"Well u should because you have more experience with brushing teeth" he said
"I guess" I say
I tried to put Lincoln in the chair but he starting crying
"No daddy!" He cries
"Why don't you sit in the chair with him" sam offered
As he put his gloves and mask on
I climbed in the chair with Lincoln in my lab and he reclined us back.
"Can u open Lincoln bud" sam said Lincoln opened a little bit. "A little wider?" He says Lincoln opened a teeny bit more and Sam put his tools in Lincoln's mouth.
Sam used his explorer to count the teeth and Lincoln winced.
"First appointment first cavity" Sam mumbled and pulled the tools out of lincolns mouth
"Well I'll send in Josh to clean Lincoln's teeth as he is the hygienist then he will take some xrays and fix the sore tooth alright?" Sam said as he pulls off his gloves and pulls down his mask so it's under his chin
I slowly got up and put Lincoln in the chair and held his hand. Josh came in then Sam left the room.
"Ah little Lincoln nice to meet you" he said cheerfully
Josh put on gloves and a mask
"Ima just clean your teeth and take your xrays ok Lincoln" Josh Said
"Ok but watch out for my sore toothy" he mumbles
"I will be careful what kind of toothpaste would you like we got Grape, mint, strawberry, cookie dough, and bubblegum"
"Bubblegum" Lincoln said
Josh got the little thing of bubblegum toothpaste and put it on the tray. And got gloves and a mask on " Please open" he says. Lincoln obeys. "Ah I see the little cavity" Josh Says
Josh grabbed the toothbrush and a dab of the toothpaste and started polishing Lincoln's teeth gently.
"Swish and spit in the cup" Josh Said then Lincoln swished and spit in the cup.
Then josh took xrays and found one cavity. Josh left the room
Sam came back in and read the xrays. "One teeny cavity I'll fix it right now" he says
"So Chip do you want to sedate him or just numb him" sam says
"Just sedate he doesn't want to see the needle" I say
Sam grabs the gas mask and puts it over Lincoln's face and soon falls asleep. Sam fills the cavity then fixed it then Lincoln slowly wakes up and soon enough its time to go home. We walked down the hallway to the exit and Sam says "Chip Wait!" He says
"Hmm?" I say and turn around
"You haven't scheduled your 6 mo neither has Jack" he says
"We have been just busy" I say and turn back around and walked towards the exit quickly but Sam says
"Do you want me to schedule one for you?" He chuckles
"No" I say and finally leave and go to the car then we went home.
Later on that day A knock can be heard at the door. I opened it. Lincoln was watching nick jr.
Sam was standing there. "May I come in?" He asks
"Sure I guess" I say then jack walks in and sees Sam
"Heya Sam" Jack said excitingly
"You two need this checkup you know?" Sam says
"We have been busy Sam we don't have time" I complain
"You do have time" sam says as he sits on the couch.
"No we don't we have a kid to look after" I complain
Me and Sam were arguing for a few minutes
"You better be there Tommorow" he says as he slams the door and leaves.
