Eerie
I zoomed the camera in on the trees overhead as they swayed in the breeze and let the sunlight shine between the leaves, which looked like stars to me, stars in a sunny sky. I pressed the button, and the shutter closed, effectively capturing this moment in time forever. Just as I was about to take another picture my earbud was removed from my ear, and I heard Kai whisper lowly in my ear,
"You're dead." I rolled my eyes as I snatched my earbud from his hand as I said,
"That would be why you are here. So stop being a whiny ass and do some protecting." He just shrugged his shoulders as he leaned against the tree,
"I'm not really in the mood right now." I sighed as I looked at the time on my cell phone and said,
"Well then go home because I don't have time to deal with your man period today. I'm going to be late for class." With that, I took the lens off my camera and placed both in my bag before shouldering it and rushed to class.
Once I got to my class I gave myself a little internal high five for beating the teacher as I took my seat towards the back of the room. Just as my ass hit the seat the teacher walked in with someone in tow. My eyes widened as I realized who it was, and he gave me a half smile that let me know he saw me, so I cocked my eyebrow and mouthed,
"What are you doing here?" That half smile of his just turned into a devilish smirk as he shrugged his shoulders. Just then the Professor said,
"Although it is rather late in the semester Ethan here has assured me that if I let him into my class that he will catch up, so here's hoping he proves me wrong." Just as he directed the attention to Ethan I swear every girl in the class swooned, and I, for some irrational reason, wanted to claw all of their eyes out. The professor then turned to Ethan, "Pick a seat, and let's get started." Ethan nodded and headed for the seat right to my left, much to the dismay of all the other girls. Once he was seated beside me, I turned my head towards him and rested it against my arm as I openly stared at him. He then met my gaze as he said,
"You're staring." I shrugged,
"I think you are mildly stalking me, so I call this even." He cocked his eyebrow at me, and it was at that very moment that I realized that I couldn't read his thoughts. My eyes widened as I took in that he was only giving off white noise. My lips curled in a half smile as I thought that this boy just became much more attractive if that was even possible. Suddenly I was ripped out of my own thoughts by the professor at the front of the class,
"Eerie, Ethan, do you think that it would be okay for me to continue the lecture, or would you like more get to know you time?" I rolled my eyes as I turned my gaze to the front of the class as I asked,
"Do you want me to answer that truthfully?" He just sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, because we both knew that I was the best student that he has ever had, and although I push his buttons to no end, I am still his favorite, which was evident when he said,
"Well, since I now have Eerie's attention I would like to announce the winner of college photographer of the year is none other than our very own Eerie Stalts for her collection of pictures depicting the aftermath of terrorism on our home soil." Suddenly all eyes were on me, and it was making me feel rather uncomfortable. My eyes widened when I heard the question that the professor was about to ask, and I practically begged with my eyes for him to keep his mouth shut, but, no he just couldn't do that for me, "Eerie, could you please tell us how you found that site since it's been years since it happened?" I sighed heavily. I hated lying to people, but lying was pretty much the only way I could exist. Really, who would believe me if I said that I was killed in that town, oh and I just happened to be turned into a vampire there, but don't worry I'm not the bad kind of vampire? The longer I took to answer the more curious the people around me became so I sucked it up and said,
