Once I finally got to my apartment all I wanted to do was fall into my bed and sleep for a week. Sadly, I didn't get to do that because when I went to unlock the door it just swung open. I sighed heavily, I didn't need to deal with some jerkwads trying to steal my stuff, even though I'm sure that they'd soon notice that I didn't have anything to steal, just a laptop that would fry if the wrong password was entered and some turkey that was in the fridge.

I kicked the door the rest of the way open, and then once I was inside the apartment I loudly kicked it closed, if the thieves were still here they would regret it because I was feeling like taking my crappy day out on someone. Everything was quiet as I walked through the living room, although I did notice that my laptop was missing which just pissed me off more. But just as I rounded the corner to the kitchen, I spotted the offender standing at my counter eating a sandwich that I had a sneaking suspicion contained turkey.

"Is there a reason that you are in my apartment and eating my food?" He just took a bite of his sandwich and asked with his mouth full as he pointed to my very blank computer screen,

"You changed your password, huh?" I pretty much growled as I stormed fully into the room and slammed the lid closed on my now useless laptop,

"Is there a reason why you are here?" He shrugged,

"You called me here, and now I'm here. I thought I could help you with your mission, it could be like the old days." I could feel my fists clenching as I said through my teeth,

"This isn't some stroll down memory lane, I don't want you here. Calling you was a mistake, one that I will never make again. Now get out." He just ignored my outburst as he continued eating, then asked,

"How much do you really know about this Eerie girl? Could she be a vampire?" I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose,

"Well, she doesn't burst into flames in the sun, so that's a big no."

"What if she had an item that allowed her daylight access?" I rolled my eyes,

"This is reality, not some teen fiction where magic decoder rings will save you from burning and vampires sparkle. Vampires kill people and relish in the kill from the darkness. You taught me that." I then looked him in the eye as I continued, "And it seems, so do you." Just as I was about to kick him out, he slammed his hands on the counter,

"What is it you want from me? We are the same, you and I, but you are always trying to paint me like a villain. We work for the same order and have both done some questionable things in the name of that order. So why don't we just get rid of this girl, call it a job well done, and get to know each other again." I made a disgusted sound,

"How did I ever look up to you? Were you ever the man that I thought that you were? Wait don't answer that; I don't care anymore. Get out." He sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck,

"I know that they told you to find out what she was, but in truth, they really don't care, she is dead anyway." It was then that I really looked at him and took in his black fatigues. He was going hunting, and it seemed that Eerie was his prey,

"Has the order sanctioned this?" He shrugged,

"The order isn't as black and white as you think it is. It is more of lighter and darker shades of gray. They may not have told me to kill her, but they won't stop me, and I won't be punished for it." I took a shaky breath as it slowly dawned on me that the people I idolized might actually be the monsters that should be hunted. I then stepped closer to him and grabbed the front of his shirt so I could pull his face closer to mine so that I knew that he heard every word that I was about to say,
