The next morning I woke up to Eerie's back against my chest and smiled to myself because I had really grown to enjoy this feeling. I brushed the hair away from her neck and planted a kiss there as I asked,

"Do you want to train with Kai and me this morning?" She just groaned and pulled the blanket over her head. I chuckled and ruffled the hair that was still visible and said, "I'm going to take that as a no." I then quickly got dressed and met Kai in the gym where he demolished me over and over again. Every time I thought that I might have had him, he somehow evaded me and then knocked me to the mats. I wiped the sweat from my brow as I panted for breath, "Are you sure that you don't read minds as well?" He scoffed,

"I don't need to read your mind to know that you favor your left side in most things, and that you are more likely to throw a punch than a kick, which we are really going to have to work on, because even though you are strong you could do more damage with your legs than your arms." I stared at him blankly and asked,

"You learned all that from a few sparring matches?" He shrugged,

"We all have something we are good at. I like details, and the details help me not get staked or to lose my head, so I would urge you to also look at the details while fighting. The details don't lie." I nodded as I grabbed a bottle of water that Eerie liked to keep in the mini fridge that she had put down there and took a deep drink as I thought about Kai. I knew almost nothing about him, but at the same time I knew deep down that I could trust him,

"What is it you like to do, you know when you aren't kicking the crap out of me and babysitting Eerie?" He froze as his violet eyes widened,

"I...umm...well..." He cleared his throat, "I find things to keep me occupied." I eyed him skeptically as I tilted my head,

"You are hiding something." He sighed,

"Sort of, but because Eerie isn't prying inside of my head it's actually working, sort of like an experiment. I want to see how long it takes for her to dig it out." I nearly choked on my water as I said,

"You have seen her mad, right?" He nodded. "She is going to tear you limb from limb when she finds out you are hiding something from her." He nodded again,

"I am fully aware of the risks. I just hope that the reward at the end of it will be enough to distract her." I snorted,

"Are we talking about the same Eerie?" He sighed,

"It's a really nice reward." I cocked my eyebrow at him, but he just waved me off and looked at his watch, "Weren't you going to see if you could get some data for us?" I nodded my head,

"I almost forgot. I just have to swing by my apartment and grab my laptop, and then I'm going to go to the coffee shop in the next town, just in case they trace it."

"Do you want some backup?" I gave him a half smile and shook my head,

"Thanks, but no, it would kinda negate the reason for me to go so far away from you guys." He let out a breath,

"Okay, just be careful and remember to look for the details."

It took exactly ten minutes after I logged in for them to find me. They were subtle at first, coming into the coffee shop and placing orders and then sitting there, not touching said coffee and pretending to read. I rolled my eyes and continued my search while I still could since I knew that they wouldn't try anything in a public place like this, which is why I had picked it. After fifteen more minutes of digging, I found what it was I was looking for. A high ranking member of the Soldiers of the Sun died unexpectedly of a heart attack last night. It seems that Eerie was right about what they were doing, it would also seem that I didn't have the clearance to figure out the why. Just as I was about to pack up everything and try and make a hasty getaway, a man that I had pegged as a member of the order came up to me and said,
