Enjoy the chapter :).
The song on the side, I was listening to when I was writing this and the following chapter.
-----------------
Graduation day arrives. My family is here. My mother is near tears, but they all wear grins of happiness. Xavier is here too. He brings me flowers and he makes me blush when he kisses me in front of my parents knowing they haven’t met him officially. I leave them as I go line up for graduation. Photos are taken and we all go out to a late lunch to celebrate. Later, my friends and I meet at my and Kyle’s apartment to celebrate our graduations. Oriel and Maylee bring all the drinks and the rest of us bring the snacks. We lay out everything in the living room. We were fortunate to find an apartment with a spacious living room. We have the television and music going on in there and the lamps are illuminating the room. We’re all in our pajamas, we wanted to do something just us together, since we won’t be living together anymore. Besides they will be spending the night too.
“Oriel, pass me the bowl!” Evelin exclaims.
“No, I don’t want to share.” Oriel whines back.
He whines a lot more when he’s had alcohol in his system.
“Before ya’ll continue we need to toast for our graduation!” Kyle interrupts.
“Yes, we do!” Oriel exclaims.
“And before Oriel gets drunk.” Ryan murmurs.
“Hey, I’m not getting drunk.”
“Here pass the wine glasses.” Maylee says.
The glasses are passed around and Kyle begins the toast.
“For our graduation and our friendship.”
“For our baby growing up.” Oriel adds.
“Oriel, why do you always have to call me the baby? You’re the youngest one.”
“Because we view you as the baby of the group.”
“You act more like it than any of us.” I respond.
“To having many moments like this.” Maylee adds.
“To success in our future endeavours.” Evelin adds.
“For love.” Xavier adds.
“For us.” Ryan concludes.
We clink our glasses and empty them.
Oriel goes to turn up the volume to the music and starts dancing. He gets Evelin to join him. Soon all of us are dancing. Exhausted we sprawled out on the floor, conversation flowing, and music in the background. We must all have fallen asleep at different times.
I wake up my head on Xavier’s chest and his arm around me. I try to move before anyone else wakes up, but he just tightens his arm around me. I look around but everyone is on my other side.
A minute later I try moving, I’m a bit more successful, but Xavier whispers, “you’re not going anywhere,” with a smile.
“I don’t want anyone waking up and seeing us like this.”
“I’m comfortable and we’re not doing anything.”
“But you’re not the one who’s going to get teased.”
“But it’s too adorable seeing you blush.” He responds opening his eyes.
“Don’t say that and let me go.”
