"So you said to take a left here?"

Y/N nodded as she continued shoveling handfuls of chocolate candies into her mouth from the bag in her lap.

Seokjin kept his squinted eyes focused on the road.  He held his palm open in front of Y/N which, during the hour-or-so they had been driving, she learned was code to place some chocolate in his hand.  He popped the handful of candies in his mouth and spun the wheel around the corner.

"So," Seokjin began. "I know I didn't plan much, but you had fun today right?"

"Yes!"  Y/N nodded enthusiastically. "It was the most fun I ever had!"

"The most fun you've ever had?  I must be doing something right then."

She nodded again as she shoved the candy bag into the cup holder between them, trading it for her new teddy bear.  Seokjin saw her grab it and glanced over at her.  He chuckled and returned his focus to the road.

"Now, Miss Y/N," Seokjin was still grinning ear to ear, it showed in his voice.  "I have two questions for you."

"Oh, Okay- what are they?"  Y/N turned towards him raised her eyebrows curiously.

"Well, first of all,"  Seokjin took a moment to rethink his words, afraid he might hurt her feelings.  "I noticed that you act... really young sometimes."

"Oh..."  Y/N dropped her head and puffed her bottom lip, worried if he was going to make fun of her.  Seokjin's eyes opened wide and patted her on the knee to quickly get her attention.

"No, no, no!  I'm not saying it's a bad thing at all! It's adorable!  I love it, you're so adorable- don't worry!"

He spoke quickly, sure to give her every bit of reassurance he had in him in the shortest time possible.  Y/N looked back up shyly, giggling softly at his frantic compliments.  Once he saw the smile return, he sighed in relief before returning his hand to the wheel.

"It's called little space."  Y/N shocked herself at her sudden bravery.  She hadn't ever been so straightforward like this before.  He's just so easy to trust.

"Little space?"  Y/N watched his face brighten and grow more curious, comforting her enough to continue.

"It's what I call my headspace when I act like that.  It's age regression.  Sometimes I just act like I'm four."  Seokjin nodded as he drove, listening closely.

"When did you start doing the little space?"  Y/N laughed at his wording but she let it slide.

"I don't remember.  It's always just been something I've done."  She shrugged.  "Sometimes it's a way I cope, sometimes it just happens when I'm having fun.  But it's hard to control when it happens, which gets me in trouble sometimes."

"In trouble?"  Seokjin began laughing.  "Why would something like that get you in trouble?"

"Sometimes I feel like it's wrong" Y/N looked down, embarrassed. "I get made fun of a lot for it.  It bothers people.  And if my parents see..."

Y/N trailed off, her mind filling with frightening images of her mother and father.  She didn't want to tell him about them.  She thought if she told the truth, he would run away.  They stopped at a light as Seokjin decided the silence had gone on for too long.

"Don't worry, Y/N."  His voice became soft as he could finally allow his eyes off the road to meet hers.  He smiled reassuringly, even though his heart ached after her confession.  "You're not doing anything wrong.  I don't know why anyone would get mad at something like that.  I think it's adorable."  He patted her head to make her giggle.  "If anyone tries to hurt you again, will you promise to tell me?"

Y/N looked down at her feet that were hiding under the dashboard.  She grew very quiet again, worried about how much that promise would entail.  Does that mean I'll have to tell him about mother and father?

Through the ever-passing lights of the other cars, he looked at her silently.  He wondered what was going on in her head but quickly brushed aside the worry, not wanting to make assumptions.  He looked at her face, glowing against the red of the stop light.  Little strands of hair fell down beside her cheeks.  He slowly lifted his hand to gently push one of the stray hairs out of her face and secure it behind her ear.

She lifted her gaze, reacting to his delicate touch.  The way his fingers lightly grazed against her cheek made her shiver.  Her face grew red once again and she smiled gently.  Suddenly she felt herself regress again from the unexpected vulnerability.  His eyes sparkled down at her as he tilted his head ever-so-slightly, slowly blinking at Y/N, who was still holding her teddy bear close to her chest.  All he wanted was to keep her safe in his arms forever.

"Please?"  He whispered with that gentle smile of his.

"I promise, Jinnie."

Seokjin's face softened at her change of tone, now knowing that she was little again.  He smiled and placed a hand on the top of her head, slowly petting her soft hair.

"Good Girl."

Y/N slumped her posture under his touch and began to giggle, thrilled from the praise he had given her.  Seokjin began to laugh loudly at her reaction, throwing his head back against his seat.

He was enjoying this too much.

"Look at you, I can barely handle how cute you are!  You're so good, you're like a little princess!"

Y/N gasped.  A little princess?!  She covered her hot cheeks with her hands and kicked her feet, flailing around for only a moment to get out all of the excitement she possibly could.  Seokjin jumped back in his seat a little bit at her sudden wiggle.  And did a big, dramatic, fake gasp.

"You like that, don't you?"

Y/N's shoulders raised above her neck, blushing and shying away from confessing.

"Do you like being a little princess?"

Y/N was stuck in a giggle fit as she nodded at him shyly.  Seokjin knew he was teasing, but he loved it too much.  He felt so powerful to be able to make her this flustered so quickly.

"Well then, that leads me to my second question."

Y/N's ears perked and she uncovered her eyes from her hands to look at him, batting her eyelashes waiting for the handsome man looking at her to continue.

"Will you do me the honor of being my little princess?"

Suddenly, time seemed to stand still.

Y/N froze in place, her lips slightly parted in shock.  Was he asking what she thought he was asking?  Was he asking her to be his girlfriend?  Her entire body flushed red as the words repeated in her head.  His little princess.  The thought of being loved excited her.  It felt unreal.

Seokjin watched her, waiting for an answer.  He began to hear his heartbeat through his ears.  Maybe he was too forward, but something about her made him impatient.  All he wanted was to know she was his.  He swallowed nervously, praying he didn't mess everything up.

Finally, time caught up with them.  Y/N slowly began to smile until it stretched across her whole face.

The little princess nodded.

Seokjin tilted his head and clutched his heart.  The fear of rejection was finally lifted as he let it out in a loud, vocal sigh.  He didn't take his eyes off of her as she looked back up at him fondly.  They both melted under each other's gaze, knowing that they now belonged to each other.

"I promise I'll treat you well,"  he cooed. Seokjin lifted his hand to her cheek, softly rubbing his thumb against her skin.  A soft chuckle hummed behind his lips as she nuzzled into his touch.  "My little princess."

Suddenly, the sound of the cars behind them had broken the moment with obnoxiously loud honking.  They both jumped as Seokjin grabbed the wheel again, quickly hitting the gas pedal.  Y/N began to laugh.

"Oops~"  She played with the ears of her teddy bear as Seokjin pushed the car past the impatiently green light.
