Ed's pov.

I walked back into the hospital, back into the waiting room. Everyone was standing there doing something.

Andrea was holding a crying Lily. Taylor was trying to confort her and Austin, well he was staring at me.

"What the hell was that?" He asked coming up to me.

"What the hell was what?" I said.

"You yelled at her."

He pointed at Taylor.

"I didn't yell at her. She wanted to know why Lily was crying, I told her."

"You can't do that!'' He screamed. ''She doesn't know better!''

I walked away from him not feeling like fighting about something stupid.

"Daddy." Lily whimpered.

I picked her up out of Andrea's arms. Taylor watched carefully.

"I want to go home.'' She whispered.

"I know Lil'. I know."

"I have all my stuff." Taylor said.

"Okay then."

I turned and started walking to the car when I looked back.

Taylor was hugging everyone. She was thanking them for helping her and telling them she'll visit too.

I watched them with tears in my eyes. Why did she have to forget us? Out of everyone in this world. Why us? It would've been easier if she had forgotten someone else, or better, no one.

"I miss her." Lily said.

"I do too."

Not wanting to see anymore I carried Lily to the car.

''Do you think she'll love me again?'' Lily asked.

I looked into her blue eyes. Identical to Taylor's. She looked at me with wonder and questions I didn't have an answer to.

What was I supposed to say this time? I had run out of answers long ago.

"Lily, There's some things I need to talk to you about. The doctors told us some things about mommy."

"Okay." She said waiting for an answer.

"Her brain damage is permanent."

"What does that mean?" She asked tilting her head.

I sighed.

"It means that she's not going to remember us in a few weeks or years." I explained.

"Oh daddy." Lily said grabbing on to me crying.

I rubbed her back as I set her in the back seat. I couldn't watch her cry like this. She's shed too many tears to last her a lifetime. She didn't need to lose anymore.

"Is everything okay?" I heard a voice from behind me ask.

I turned finding taylor.

"Yeah, she missed her nap." I said getsuring to Lily.

I couldn't tell Taylor the truth. Not after what happened earlier. From now on it would only be the things that matter.

"Are you ready to go?" I asked opening the car door. She nodded walking over to the passenger side and getting in.

"I was thinking.." She said. "I think it would be better if you took me to a hotel.'

"W-what?" I asked trying to wrap my head around her words.

"After what happened earlier. I think it'd ber best."

She looked at me with pleading eyes I couldn't say no to. So we started on our way. I took her to the nearest hotel, only 10 minutes from the house.

"Are you sure you'll be okay on your own?" I asked.

"Ed, I still remember everything else. I think I'm going to go back to New York. Stay there for a year or two. Hey have you seen my phone?"

I shook my head reaching for her purse by Lily.

"Thanks." She said. "Hey, theres my scarf."

I looked back at Lily playing with it.

"Here mo- I mean Taylor. You can have it." Lily said pushing it forward.

"No." Tay smiled. ''You keep it.''

With that she shut the door and i watched her leave my life again.

Just. Like. That.
