-8 Years Later-

Lily's p. o. v.

"Wake up Lil'." I heard as I was tapped on the shoulder.

"No." I mumbled pulling the blankets over my head.

"Don't you want your birthday breakfast?" The voice asked.

"What kind of breakfast?" I asked throwing off the blankets and sitting up.

"You'll see." My dad said  walking out.

I quickly got up running down the stairs and into the kitchen. On the table sat waffles with strawberries and syrup on them.

"Are these your homemade ones?" I asked grabbing a fork.

"Of course! I wouldn't give you frozen ones! You're thirteen today!'' He said smiling.

"Thanks dad."

I watched as he went into the living room and turned on the tv. Before eating more of the waffles I sat back and thought about my life.

The thirteen years that I have been alive have been the hardest. I don't really remember things from age five and under. Sometimes things come in flashbacks. I remember bits and pieces of my mom. I don't know much about being with her when I was younger but I know enough to remember that she left us. She left me and my dad eight years ago. She left and never looked back. I always ask dad about her, everytime I get the chance. He says that I'm too young. That I wouldn't understand. All I want to know is her name. Not her full name or anything, just her name.

My dad tried to reach out to her at points. He tried to call her, visit her, anything he could. He loved her, and he still does today. I see the way he watches me, the way he tells people I act like her. He cries himself to sleep on certain nights. He thinks I can't hear him but really, I'm crying too.

My phone vibrated in my hand and I checked the message.

Twitter: @Taylorswift13: On the news today. Check it out!

"Dad!" I called out to him.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Taylor Swift is on the news can we watch it pleaseeeeee?" I begged. I watched something in his eyes shine, almost a if a tear were to sneak out.

"Sure." He smiled patting the seat next to him.

''Thank youuuu!" I said sitting next to him.

He changed the TV and Taylor appeared on the screen.

"Today I'm here with Taylor Swift the 13 time grammy award winner." The interview said.

"Hi." Taylor smiled waving.

"Taylor, I've been told that you have some exciting news to share with us."

"Well, first off I would like to say thank you for all the birthday wishes! But What I wanted to share with you guys is this morning when I woke up there was a note by my bed. There was also a trail of roses leading outside. The result of that was my amazing boyfriend proposing to me in a field of roses!" She gushed.

"Did you hear that dad?! She's getting married to Taylor Laughtner!" I Screamed.

"I heard." He nodded with disappointment in his voice.

"Congratulations!" The interviewer squealed. "One more question since we have time. It was eight years ago today that you left your Nashville home and came back to Pennsylvania. Not only was it your birthday but it was also your daughters!"

I saw taylor twitch a bit at the question.

"Yes, it was my daughters and I also have one more thing to say. A little over eight years ago I had an accident. I woke up in the hospital remembering everything except for my husband and daughter. Two weeks ago on the date that I woke up in the hospital, I woke up in my home remembering everything.'' She looked up into the camera with a sad face.

"All I wish was that i would've remembered sooner. But i can't change the way things happened. So I guess all I have to say is happy birthday Lily Sheeran. I hope you have a wonderful day. I love you.''

I sunk into the couch with my mouth open. How was this happening to me? Why did this happen to me?

After being Taylor's biggest fan for five years how did i never realize the resemblance?

How did I never realize i was Taylor Swift's daughter?
