Ed's p. o.v .
I sat in the brightly colored room, her hand in mine pressed against my lips.
"Ed." Andrea said touching my shoulder. "Why don't you go home. Get some rest." I shook my head.
"No. I'm not leaving her. I want to be the first thing she see's when she wakes up." I said standing up.
"Don't you think she's gonna need some space? You killed her fiance." She said looking me in the eye.
"Yeah because he was bat shit crazy. He tried to kill her!" I screamed at her.
"And you shot him. You shot him in the shoulder and beat him to death." She said turning away.
"He killed my daughter. He killed your grandchild!" I said to her. She stopped in her tracks and turned around. The tears glistened in her eyes and she shook her head.
"Fine. Stay." She said before walking out. I sat back down and leaned my head against the wall.
Why were things so difficult? Why was I sitting in the hospital at 3 in the morning for the second night in a row? Why was Lily gone?
"Taylor." I said leaning closer to her. "Please, please wake up. This isn't like before. You'll remember me this time. I won't let you get away again. Just please wake up. I need you." I said the last words burying my head in her chest. I let the tears fall. I didn't care anymore. I didn't care who saw. I didn't care if the whole world saw.
"Ed.." I heard a small voice trail off.
"Taylor." I said sitting up and cuffing my hand over her cheek.
Leaning in closer our lips touched. They moved in sync together like they did eight years ago.
"Is he gone?" Taylor asked in a low whisper.
"Who?" I asked moving my head.
"Taylor." She said looking around the room.
"Yeah. He's gone Tay." I said pushing her hair out of her face. I sat on the edge of the bed as She leaned close to me. I embraced her in my arms and held her tightly.
"Good you're up." A girls voice said from behind me. I let go of Taylor and turned around. The doctor stood at the end of the room smiling. "How do you feel darling?"
"Okay I guess. My head hurts really bad." She said leaning it against my chest.
"That's a side effect of the concussion. It should wear off soon." She said smiling at us.
"Can I go home?" Taylor asked.
"Well, It looks like everything's working properly so I'll say yes. I'll get you unhooked from all these wires." She said walking towards us. I stood up and got my phone sliding it in my pocket. I turned around as the doctor was walking out.
"Taylor, I'm so very sorry about Lily." She said before walking out.
"What's she talking about?" She asked as I helped her stand up. "Where is Lily? How is she?"
"Taylor, Lily's gone. The bullet hit her lung. They couldn't save her." I said as I felt her crumple in my arms. Tears glistened in her eyes and she looked at me.
"This is all my fault. I brought her here. I knew something bad would happen but i still went on that date with you. I killed her." She cried into my arms.
"This isn't your fault." I said as I picked her up and carried her through the halls outside.
"Where are we?" She asked picking her head up.
"We're in Nashville Tay. I asked them to transpot you here. I didn't think you wanted to go back home." I said putting her in the car.
"What about my stuff?" She said me.
"It's all at the house." I said.
"The house?"
"Yeah. Our house." I said driving out of the parking lot. I watched her at every red light we hit. She fells asleep right before we got home.
Carrying her inside without waking her I laid her in bed next to me. She moved closer and I wrapped my arms around. I felt a tear slip down my cheek thinking about everything. Nothing would be the same without Lily. She wouldn't wake us up in the morning. She wouldn't ever go on a date. Have her first kiss. She wouldn't-
"Ed." Taylor said looking up at me.
"Hmmm?" I asked.
"Stop thinking." She kissed me. "Just go to bed. I'll be here when you wake up." I smiled kissing her once more before falling asleep with the love of my life.
