It was the day before your wedding to the love of your life, Chandler Bing. The two of you had been together for three and a half years, getting engaged on your three-year anniversary. You had been married before to your childhood sweetheart and your even had a 6 year old daughter fathered by your ex-husband. You were very skeptical about dating again after your divorce but you couldn't stop yourself from falling for Chandler. Your daughter loved Chandler and he was absolutely brilliant with her.
Despite knowing that you were madly in love with Chandler and that deep in your heart you knew he was the one you wanted to spend your life with, you couldn't help be overwhelmed with nerves. After going through one divorce, you were scared that it would happen again and you knew that you couldn't deal with that kind of heartbreak again.
"Y/N, your sisters outside," Chandler called from the bottom of the stairs.
You picked up your bag from the bed and headed downstairs. You, along with your daughter, were staying at your sisters house whilst Chandler was staying at your shared home for the night before the wedding. When you reached the bottom of the stairs, Chandler took the bag from you, placing it on the floor, before placing his hands on your hips, pulling you closer to him. You slipped your arms around his neck as he softly pressed his lips to yours. "I can't wait to marry you tomorrow," he mumbled, pulling away from you briefly.
Before you could respond, he pressed his lips to yours once more. "Ew, that's gross," a voice squealed.
You pulled away from Chandler to see your daughter stood at the bottom of the stairs covering her eyes. The sight made the two of you chuckle, causing her to peek through her hands. You scooped her up in your arms and her tiny arms wrapped around you neck, her head resting on your shoulder. "You ready to go baby?" You asked.
She nodded her head in response. "Right, well you two go get into the car and I'll bring out your bags," Chandler said, ushering you out of the door.
You carried your daughter of the house and proceeded to buckle her into the car seat that your sister had put in the car. Chandler kindly carried your bags and put them in the boot of the car as you climbed in the front seat, leaning over to give your sister a hug. You shut the door and wound down the window as Chandler approached the passenger door. He leant his arms on the car door, a bright smile resting on his face. "Have a good night, I'll see you tomorrow future Mrs Bing," Chandler grinned.
You leant forward and pecked his lips and you could feel the big smile that was resting on his face. "I love you," you said.
"I love you too."
He stepped away from the car and you wound up the window, waving at him as you sister pulled away from the house. You got to your sisters in no time and since it was 7:30pm , you took your daughter for a quick bath and then tucked her into bed since she had to be up early to get ready for the wedding. When you got downstairs, your sister handed you a glass of red wine and ushered you into the living room where Monica, Phoebe and Rachel were waiting for you. "Come on, get yourself comfy, we have lined up all of your favourite movies to watch because we know you don't want to drink a lot tonight and just want to chill," Monica said, patting the space next to herself on the sofa.
The rest of the night went by in a blur, but one thought stayed on your mind. You were scared that your marriage to Chandler would end in the same way your previous one did. Your daughter was very young when you got a divorce from your first husband so it wasn't that hard on her, but she is very attached to Chandler and you knew that it would break her heart if she couldn't see him anymore. "Anymore wine anyone?" Rachel asked, snapping you out of your thoughts.
"I'm okay thank you, I'm just going to call mum real quick," you lied, excusing yourself from the living room.
"Y/N it's half eleven, mum will be in bed," your sister called, but you ignored her and hurried to your bedroom upstairs.
Truthfully, you were going to call Chandler. If anyone was going to calm your nerves it would be him. Your shaking hands dialled his number as you prayed that he would pick up. "Hey baby, everything okay?" Chandler asked as he picked up the phone, making you sigh in relief.
"I really need to talk to y..."
"One second," Chandler said, interrupting you," Joey don't you dare go near that tuxedo with that pizza."
"Chandler please, I really need to talk to you," you begged, hoping to get his attention.
"Sorry Y/N, I'm gonna have to go, Joey is trying to smuggle pizza into his suit so he can eat it tomorrow, I love you," Chandler explained before hanging up the phone.
In that moment, you knew there was no way you were going to escape the nerves that were cruelly consuming you.
