C h a p t e r 1 3

Dazai's POV

After the call with Rie, I couldn't help but feel like something is wrong.

'Why was she crying?'
'Did something happen? And if so, what happened?'

Those thoughts kept swirling in my mind as I was running towards her house.

Then it hit me.

'What if she...Oh god, please tell me she didn't!'

I started running even faster than before, just so I could get to her.
As I finally reached her door, I was exhaused but, even so, I rang the doorbell without hesitation.

She opened the door.
I couldn't help but hug her as tightly as I could, maybe a little bit too tightly. But I didn't care, I just wanted her in my arms. And without realising, I started crying.

"Please. Please tell me you didn't do it...please.." I said, my voice getting weaker and weaker, cracking at the end.

"I'm s-sorry...I'm s-so sorry...I-" my heart stopped.

"No..no no no..No!" I felt her flinch a little as I said that.

"I-I..just..I'm sorry.."

"Why..? What happened? Why didn't you call me?!"

"C-Chuuya-san was h-here when it happened...and-"

"What? Chuuya? What the hell did he do to you?!" Without realising I raised my voice a little.

"No no no! He d-didn't do anything to me."

"Then what's going on?"

". . ."

"*sigh*Let me see..."

"Huh? N-No you d-don't have to..!"

"I'm going to do it weather you like it or not. And you're going to tell me what happened after I'm done."

"But I-"

"No buts! Now let me help you. I don't like seing you like this..."

"Fine..."

I got the first aid kit and, after I unbandaged her arm, I was a little relieved to see that there weren't as many cuts as I thought there would be. Don't get me wrong, it was still pretty bad and I was really worried, but it wasn't as bad as I thought.

"Now please, tell me what happened after the three of you left." I said while disinfecting her cuts.

"Well..."

"Well?"

"Me and Chuuya-san came back here to 'celebrate' and after I danced like an idiot, I f-fell asleep..and.."

"You had a nightmare, right?"

She nodded.

"Is it ok if you tell it to me?"

"Uhm..."

"You don't have to say every detail. Just the basic storyline"

"Is was in a d-dark room and t-then out of n-nowhere m-my a-aunt and u-uncle came and started b-beating and s-stabing me. B-but no matter how many times they d-did it, I didn't d-die. After some time they left, but then my u-uncle returned with a g-gun and..and..." She couldn't finish the sentance, but I knew what she meant and I felt so heartbroken seing her break down like this.

"You don't have to finish...is that when you woke up?"

She nodded again.

"I'm going to suggest something. No wait, let me reformulate that.  I'm not suggesting anything. It's going to happen wether you like it or not."

"What is it..?"

"I'm spending the night here."

"What? No no no."

"You heard me and yes yes yes."

"Whyy?"

'Is that even a question?!'

"Are you seriously asking me this?! I knew you were stupid but I didn't know you were this stupid" I said.

"You're not Einstein yourself so shut up."

'This girl is seriously getting on my nerves.' I thought  to myself, not realising I was smiling until she pointed it out.

"Why are you smiling?"

"N-Nothing!"

"Awwe, are you stuttering~?"

"No! I-I am not!"

"Sure sure~" She said smiling.

I'm glad I was able to make her smile, at least a little.

"

For real now, why are you spending the night here? I mean, isn't it dangerous for the mission?"

"What do you mean?"

"Chuuya-san comes to pick me up every morning, and he usually comes to the apartament door."

"Yeah, so?"

"What if he see you or something?"

"He will not."

"How do you know?"

"'Cause I do, now go to sleep"

"But I don't wanna!"

"I'm gonna count to three."

"Wait wha-"

"Onneeee"

"Uhm...what's happen when you get to-"

"Twoooo"

"Ok I don't wanna find out, good night!"

Rie's POV

'I can't sleep'
'Cool👌'

"Ugh, and what should I do noww" I wispered annoyed, trying not to wake Dazai up.

'Well, time to watch Anime!'
