Chapter 43: "Those Left Behind!"

[A Few Hours Later]

"We shouldn't linger." Nebula says as she walks over to Kylie.

"I've... I've got Kelly. You'll have to get Kylie." Tony says.

"I'm not leaving. Not until I find away to bring him back!" Kylie yells and Tony sets Kelly down as she'd fallen asleep.

"Look here, you aren't the only one who's lose the love of your life. Look at that little angel right there. Her heart has been shattered because her first love has died right in her arms. So, don't think that I don't know what you are going through. We need to get out of here, get back to Earth and find a way to kill that son of a bitch who hurt my baby girl." Tony says, "I know you want to get him as badly as I do. So, get on the damn ship." Kylie looks over at Kelly as Tony speaks and Kylie nods. She walks over after Nebula. Tony walks over and picks up Kelly and carries her after Nebula.

[Kelly's Mind]

Kelly stood in complete darkness as she sobs. She wipes her face as she continued to cry. She crumbles to the ground in the darkness as she kneels.

'Why did all this happen?!' Kelly's thoughts say as times laughing with Peter is shown before he's shown turning to dust. Kelly opens her eyes and she looks up into the darkness. A green light appears around her body as she lets herself fall back into the darkness.

[A Few Days Later]

Steve and Daniel find the leftovers of Nick Fury's things and they bring it back to the Avenger's Facility. They go through who all they lost and Steve looks back at Daniel. Daniel was missing Kelly because they hadn't heard anything from Kelly and Tony or if they even survived. Steve looks back at the holographic screen he was looking at as the world was doing a census to see how many people were gone.

"This is a nightmare." Steve says.

"I've had better nightmares." Natasha says.

"Hey." Rhodey says entering the room and Steve, Natasha and Daniel look over at Rhodey.

"Any news, Rhodey?" Daniel asks.

"So that thing just stopped doing whatever the hell it was doing." Rhodey says and the three follow him into the other room where they stashed the device with Banner.

"What do we got?" Natasha asks.

"Whatever signal it was sending finally crapped out." Banner says.

"I thought we bypassed the battery?" Steve asks.

"We did. It's still plugged in. It just... just stopped." Rhodey says.

"Reboot it and send the signal again." Steve says.

"We don't even know that this is." Banner says.

"Fury did, could you just do it please? Tell me the second you get a signal. I want to know who was on the other end of that thing." Natasha says and she turns around to find a mysterious woman standing behind her.

"Where's Fury?" The woman asks.

"Where's Fury? Who the hell are you?" Daniel asks.

"Daniel, language." Steve says.

"Sorry, but seriously, who are you?" Daniel asks.

"I want to know who you are and what you are doing with my communicator." The woman replies as she crosses her arms.

"We're the Avengers. What's... what's left of it." Daniel says.
