Chapter 53: "Battling a Fire Monster and Learning Beck's a Bad Guy!"

[Prague, Czech Republic – A Few Hours Later]

The students with their two teachers arrive at their Prague hotel. Kelly and Peter look around while the class gets told by Mr. Harrington to get some rest because later tonight they had something fun to do. Kelly looks over when Peter's phone rings.

"Hello?" Peter asks.

"It's Maria Hill, in your room is your suit, put it and an earpiece and await further orders. Tell Legacy to sync her comms to your earpiece." Hill orders.

"Yes, ma'am." Peter replies and hangs up.

"Hey, man, I'm sorry if I seem preoccupied with my relationship." Ned replies.

"Why would it bother us? You're not the third wheel anymore." Kelly replies.

"So? What's up? What's going on?" Ned asks.

"Well, the next attack is here... in the city..." Peter replies.

"But we're here." Ned exclaims quietly.

"I know... I know... I'm figuring it out." Peter replies.

"You have to do something, you two, please, we're all counting on you." Ned replies before he heads over to Betty. Kelly takes Peter's hand after he stares off into space. He doesn't react.

[Later]

"Hello? Stop ignoring everyone." Kelly replies as she hits Peter's head with the side of her hand as she stood in her hero suit. Instead of the usual purple, it was completely black except for her mask which was fully purple.

"Parker." Fury yells and Peter turns to look at Fury.

"Yes?" Peter replies.

"That thing is going to be here in a few hours... Are we boring you?" Fury asks.

"He's not bored, he's just thinking about how you kidnapped them." Beck says and Kelly looks over at Beck. She still couldn't place his face.

"I didn't kidnap them." Fury replies.

"They still won't evacuate the city." Hill says.

"Idiots." Fury responds, "So, what's the plan, Parker?"

"I will be in the cathedral tower keeping watch. When the fire monster shows up, I will radio you guys, and then Mr. Beck, Legacy and I—" Peter replies.

"My name is Mysterio." Beck says and Kelly looks over at Beck with Peter.

"That's when Mysterio, Legacy and I will begin." Peter replies.

"Peter, listen to me, this hope you have, the only hope is to stop it here and now no matter what the cost. It's our job to keep it away from civilians if we can." Beck explains, "But most important, keep it away from metal. If it gets too big it'll be able to draw power from its core. After that, there's no way to stop it." Peter gulps and he looks over at Beck.

"Hey, man, my friends are here, my girlfriend, and I can't help but think we're putting them in danger." Peter explains.

"You're worried about us hurting your friends? You called a drone strike on your own school on a tour bus. Stark gave you multibillion AR tactical intelligence system and that's the first thing you do with it?" Fury asks.

"Fury, stop. It was an accident." Kelly states.

"No, it's clear to me that you two were not ready for this." Fury replies and Kelly gulps as she gets tears in her eyes. Peter and Kelly head up to the top of the roof to calm down and Kelly kept her suit on since she didn't want Peter to see that she was upset. Mysterio flies up and floats in front of them.
