Chapter 37: "Story of the Six Infinity Stones!"

[Space – Not Far From the Destruction of Asgard]

"This the Asgardian spaceship we are under assault, I repeat we are under assault." A voice calls out into darkness. The ship that showed up fires shots at the ship as it breaks apart.

"Hear me and rejoice. You have had the privilege of being saved by the Great Titan. You may think this is suffering. No, it is salvation. Universal scales tip toward balance because of your sacrifice. Smile. For even in death, you have become Children of Thanos." A creepy guy by the name of Ebony Maw says. Kali and Loki stand beside one another while Kali breathes heavily from their battle.

"I know what it's like to lose." A guy says before he grabs Thor by the collar of his leather vest, "To feel so desperately that you're right... yet to fail, nonetheless. It's frightening. Turns the legs to jelly. But I ask you, to what end? Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same. And now, it's here. Or should I say... I am." Thor coughs out blood.

"You talk too much." Thor says.

"The tesseract or... your brother's head. I assume you have a preference?" Thanos asks.

"Oh, I do." Loki says, "Kill away." Thanos uses the stone he's already got to deal pain to Thor.

"Hmm, and what if it was instead your beautiful love?" Thanos asks and Kali is grabbed by Ebony Max and she struggles to get free.

"No! Stop!" Loki yells.

"We don't have the tesseract." Thor says, "It was destroyed on Asgard."

"It... wasn't." Kali says as she breathes heavily. Loki makes it appear.

"You really are the worst, brother." Thor says.

"It's my fault, Thor. I thought... I thought that because Asgard was the keepers of it, we should take it and protect it." Kali explains.

"I assure you, brother... the sun will shine on us again." Loki says.

"Your optimism is misplaced, Asgardian." Thanos says.

"Well, for one thing, I'm not Asgardian. And for another... we have a Hulk." Loki says before Hulk comes running over with a roar. Loki grabs Kali as he drops the Tesseract and grabs Thor at the same time as well. Hulk deals damage to Thanos but not enough to kill him.

"Let him have his fun." Ebony Maw says.

"Come on, Hulk! Kick his ass!" Kali yells. Thanos grabs onto Hulk's arms and pushes him off him. Kali's eyes widen in shock. Thanos begins kicking Hulk's ass and Kali looks at Thor and Loki.

"No." Kali says and Thor attacks Thanos. Heimdall uses the last of his power to send Hulk away.

"Heimdall!" Kali yells.

"That was a mistake." Thanos says and stabs Heimdall.

"NO!" Thor yells and Kali's eyes widen in shock as she drops to her knees.

"If... If Hulk couldn't stand a chance..." Kali whispers.

"You're going to die for that!" Thor says and Ebony Maw shushes him.

"My humble personage... bows before your grandeur. No other being has ever had the might... nay, the nobility... to wield not one, but two Infinity Stones. The universe lies within your grasp. Thanos squishes the Tesseract to reveal the small stone inside it and he places that stone onto his gauntlet and he groans as he feels its power.
