Chapter 12 To track down a hawk

Scorpion raced after Sightless. She was surprised at how fast he could fly. And the fact that he knew where he was going. She was also surprised that she could see the hiss they left from. "Those hours of walking got us nowhere?!" Scorpion exclaimed. "Hours. It was more like-" "Don't let her hoped down" Sightless interrupted Scar in a joke. Giving him a small whack of his tail. Scar laughed, which was rare around any dragon but her. She was happy they were getting along..kinda.

Scorpion landed on the cliff. Before she could say anything, Scar raised to the bushes that hid the tube. She ran after them. She darted into the bushes. She ran straight into the tube. "Ow!" she exclaimed. "Shh! They could be anywhere" Scar reminded. "Oh, yeah! Right!" Scorpion responded. Scar gave her a What did I just say? Look, then started down the vent-like system.

Scorpion looked down to see a dog. It was about a quarter of her size. It pear black, with pointy ears, a long tail, and some brown splotches. It whimpered, and growled at them. Scar growled in ferry at it. It took one look at them, then ran. "Awww. Can I keep it?" Scorpion pleaded in a whisper. "No! It's a scavengers pet, we don't know what it can do," "Scar...It's a dog..." Sightless sighed. "It's a Doberman, those can be aggressive." Scar commented. "It's a what?" Scorpion echoed. "I didn't know you were interested in dogs" Sightless teased. "Am not...Whatever we should get going." Scorpion sighed, then ran after them.

"There," Scar said after a while. He leaped down the tube into the cafeteria. Scorpion jumped down after him, with Sightless behind them. Scorpion looked around. Everything was quiet. And looked empty. "Too quiet for my likings, let's hurry," Sightless tolled them in a whisper. Scar nodded, I'll be outside. You two head towards the medicine den" He commanded. Sightless nodded. They hadn't even walked so much of a. Rainwing's tail length when Scar roared from behind them. Scorpion whipped around, and before Sightless could stop her, she ran in his direction. Suddenly a bright light brightens up the den. It cast its light in a huge flame around them. Scar was crouched under a fallen stalagmite. A Skywing and Flamewing were towering over him. The Flamewings claws were filed with blazing fire. Shy looked young, and lean. Maybe a year or two older than them. The Skywing looked around a year older than the Flamewing. He hissed in ferry. Scar shoot venom at the Skywings eye.

The Skywing hurled to the side, looking more surprised than enraged. Scar hesitated. Suddenly, Scorpion heard something wish by her. She whirled around. Hawk toward behind her. His razor-like claws outstretched. He was about the strike the back of her neck. But it only lasted for a second.

Sightless lashed his whip-like tail across Hawks neck, this caught him of ground. He slipped on his talons, and almost fell down. Her eyes widened in surprise. It had done more damage then she had expected. It wouldn't kill him, but would at least leave a reminding scar.

He barely hesitated for a second, and Hawk leaped at him. Sightless ducked, twisted around, and shot ice at his huge right wing. Hawk tried to dodge it, but ended up falling on the sharp stones. Sightless kicked him off the cliff before Hawk could do as much as react. Hawk roared in ferry, and the crack of ice sounded across the cave.
