Scorpion was shaken awake by Blaze. "What is it?" She mumbled, rolling onto her other side. "Get up! You fish-scaled dragonet!" She suddenly felt something burning on her scales, she jumped, hitting her head on the leges roof. "What was that for?!" She hissed at Blaze, who was shaking fire off her talon.
She suddenly grabbed her talon, and yanked her out. She was accompanied by the faint smell of smoke. "C'mon, hurry up!" Blaze hissed, flying the opposite direction. Scorpion dashed after her. She stopped mid flight, hovering in place. A few miles away, not the forest, but the jungle was spewing smoke.
She twisted, heading the other direction. She collided with Violet, she spread out her wings, catching herself. Violet had escaped with them in the fire. She had gotten lost in the "claustrophobic" forest, and we had to go looking for her a few days after Scorpion recovered.
She fanned her huge, majestic four butterfly-like wings. "What the heck is going on out there?!" She cried. Her inteni unfurled, as if she could sense the fire.
"I don't know," Blaze started. "But if there's a fire. There's Flamewings. And where there's Flamwings-" "There's Burn," Scorpion finished. Blaze grined. "Then thats are destanashion," Blaze agreed.
"Wh-wait!" Violet brock in. "I'm a fan of fighting, but isn't a fire plus a forest not the funnest place to be!" "We'll be careful Violet. Your so squid-hearted," Blaze shot back. "C'mon!" Blaze flew off, making the others follow.
They got there sooner then Scorpion hoped. She was starting to change her mind. The smoke was starting to make her tremble, and the fire was hard to look at. Blaze elegantly dove into the forest. Scorpion hesitated, giving Violet a look. Violet returned it, and half heartedly dove it. Scorpion followed gingerly.
She landed in the smocking place. The trees whispered with fire, and the smoke looked as if it got thicker the farther they went. Suddanly, Violet paused, her inteni up. Blaze whipped around "What now?!" Violet didn't reply, clearly focusing. "This was!" Violet instinctively ran the opposite direction. Scorpion and Blaze hesitantly followed.
After a minute or two of running, she stopped. "In here," she whispered. "There's a clearing in here, I think its the Rainwing kingdom," Violet finished.
They ran in. Scorpion stopped dead in her tracts. The clearing was filled with blazing fire. And billowing smoke made it almost impossible to see. Like fog, almost blocking a beautiful beach. And when you walk closer to its shore. You just find out a storm has stirred, with grey clouds spitting lighting and roaring thunder. And waves the size of tsunamis.
Scorpion ran into the mess of smoke and fire. She flinched from its familiar stench, and raging fire. As she ran further, she started to make out the kingdom, or, what remain of it. Hut-like dens were bursting with flames. Every now and then they would collapse, and scatter like glasses once they hit the earth. Animals stretched all around her. Birds fluttered around the clearing. Confused on why this "smoke" would fill their lungs. And why this "fire" was burning their feathers. There were no dragons in sight, well, alive ones none the less.
A few corpses lay in the clearing, which Scorpion quickly turned away from in utter fear. Blaze suddenly darted a front of her, racing into the flames. Scorpion didn't hesitate to call her back, she was still trying to get the dragons withering bodys out of her mind.
Something abruptly yanked on her talons. Violet had shot strings around her wrist. "C'mon Scorpion! Don't be such a thin blood." She yanked Scorpion, making her fall. She dug her talons into the dirt. "No! Are you crazy Violet?! You, if anyone is the thin blood here! Running into a fire?! That's surer side!" Scorpion cried. Violet pulled harder, pulling her inch by inch. "We'll be fine! Blaze just ran in there!" She yipped excitedly. "Well shes a Flamewing! Weren't you just in agreement with me like, I don't know," she counted her claws. "Three minutes ago?!" "W-well. I changed my mind! Were in the mist of battle now!" Violet blurted.
Violet tugged Scorpion to her talons. Scorpion growled, digging her talons deep into the soil once again. "Stop....Being, such. A scavenger!" Violet panted. Blaze suddenly ran out of the mix of smoke and fire. "S-something happened!" She spat. "C'mon, lets get out of here," Blaze looked us. "Thin bloods."
