You trudged around the base of the revolutionary army, running errands for everyone, waiting for Sabo and friends to return from their mission. Everything was more fun when Sabo, Koala and Hack were around, a little more lively too, but you were pretty sure you were the only one to feel that way. That also may be your biased opinion since you felt strongly for Sabo.
After finishing your last errand you were finally on your way to your room. It always felt like forever since you last been in your room, since as soon as you leave everyday you're immediately given things to do for other people, be it going shopping at the island next over or giving paperwork to someone. You didn't really have a position like everyone else, but you also didn't have any place else to go, so the revolutionary army let you stay and you basically became the one to run errands. You weren't good at anything you tried, you always tried your best though, but it would always end up in failure. So Sabo and the others actually noticing you and talking to you will forever be a shock to you, especially because Sabo is the goddamn Chief of Staff!
You met Sabo while rushing through the halls, some months ago. You were carrying a really tall stack of papers to people from Dragon himself. You were being careful as you rushed through the halls, but you weren't paying attention as you walked right into Sabo, dropping the papers everywhere and letting out a cry as you hit the floor, "Oh wow, I'm sorry! I was not looking where I was going at all. Are you okay?" He asked as he stuck out a hand for you to take so he could help you up.
You let out a huff as you got on your hands and knees and began picking up the papers, "I'm fine." You said with a little attitude. Yeah, even though Sabo is The Chief of Staff, you sure as hell didn't know that, he didn't look like a Chief of Staff to you.
"Let me help you." He said as he began to pick up the papers near him, "What's your name?" He asked you.
"(Y/N)." You gave him a short reply.
"That's a nice name." You were expecting for him to give you his name since you didn't know him, but he never did. It surprised you but you were glad since that meant you'd have to keep a conversation with him. You both picked up the papers in silence until you picked up the last sheet.
"Thanks for helping me, but I can carry all of these myself." You began to carefully reach for his half but he held them away from you.
"What? No, let me help you carry these." He demanded and you sighed, giving him a silent nod afterward and began walking to your destination and he followed after you.
"Sabo!" You heard a girl call after the both of you and you turned around to see Koala, "Dragon is asking for us." She said. You were confused at first until it finally hit you, she was talking to the guy standing next to you, which meant, you were being rude to The Chief of Staff. You let a gasp and bowed.
"Oh my goodness, I did not realize you were the Chief of Staff! I'm very sorry about my rude behavior earlier!" You apologized before quickly grabbing his half of the stack.
"Hey! I was helping you carry those!" He said defensively and tried to grab half back.
"No, no I got it! Dragon called for you anyways and I don't want to be the reason you're late. I'm used to carrying these big stacks anyways so you go ahead." You told him and rushed off immediately.
"Well, see you some other time, (Y/N)." You heard him say as you rushed through the halls again.
And that's how the friendship between you, Sabo, Koala and Hack had formed. Since you weren't on the same level as them, the only time the four of you could actually talk would be during lunch whenever they weren't gone on a mission somewhere. You and Sabo on the other hand were a lot closer somehow. You'd always mess with each other like teasing and flirting, if the teasing wasn't in a flirtatious way. Push came to shove and now you have feelings for the blond and now here you are. You stood in front of your room door and took out your key, unlocking with a sigh. Days without Sabo were so boring for you and really dragged.
When you opened your door you almost dropped your key on the floor. You let out a soft gasp as you seen said blond boy laying on your bed, playing with one of your pillows, "Sabo!" You exclaimed and ran over to the bed, letting the door behind you close on its own. You jumped onto the bed and gave him a big hug. Sabo let out a laugh as he hugged you back, "It felt forever since you've last been back!" You said as you hugged him tighter.
"It has been, I think this is the longest we've ever been gone for a mission." He said as he grip was also a little tighter on you. You both stayed in that position for a bit, in a comfortable silence. It finally hit you after a few more seconds.
"Sabo?" You asked, he hummed as a response, "How'd you get into my room?"
"Koala showed me where you kept your spare key." Damn, that girl, luckily you didn't have a diary you kept out in the open, because he for sure would have read it.
"So, did you come here right after arriving instead of reporting to Dragon?" You asked him.
"Yeah, I let Koala handle that part and I'll let Hack handle all the paperwork." He told you.
You laughed, "You're so lazy." You said to him as you patted his chest.
"You don't seem to upset by it, if you ask me."
"Because I wouldn't be laid up like this with you if you were to actually report to Dragon." You blurted without thinking. You sat up quickly, "I did not mean to say that out loud..." You mumbled, a light blush appearing on your cheeks.
Sabo stared for a bit in silence before finally asking, "(Y/n), do you like me?"
You twiddled your thumbs for a bit before sighing, not really seeing a point in lying about you feelings, "Yeah, I do..." Your hid your face in your hands after admitting.
"Why are you hiding your face?" He asked with a laugh.
"Because, I'm embarrassed." You confessed.
"Why? It's not as if I don't feel the same." He told you and you slowly moved your hands from your face.
"Wait, you...feel the same?" You asked, completely shocked and he only nodded, "Why? I mean, it's not I'm some big shot that's good at everything and have a-" Sabo cut you off with a passionate kiss, getting rid of every doubt and insecurity you had.
After a few seconds, he pulled away, "Does that answer your questions?" He asked with a smirk. You furiously nodded your head with a blush, which made him laugh. God, you could listen to that laugh all day. He pulled you into another hug, this one feeling more loving than the last, "Good, now you're all mine." He said and you hugged him back as he fell back onto the bed.
