Kiss From a Rose

It was the last day at your job before you were off for the weekend. You were so excited to head home and just lay down on your bed. You continued typing away, watching the clock until it was time for you to get off. "(Y/n), are you doing anything after work today?" You heard a voice ask you and turned around and smiled.

"No, I don't have anything planned. I was just gonna go home and be one with the dust." You said with a light laugh, "Why?" You asked the blond standing before you.

"I was just going to ask if you want to come over for a few drinks we me and my friends. It's been a rough week for all of us so a nice little hang out would be good to release the stress." Sabo responded.

You didn't wait a second after he spoke to tell him your answer, "Of course I'd come over! You know alcohol is my weakness! Especially after a week like this!" 

"Alright cool! I'll tell them that we have another person joining tonight." He said with a smile that was as bright as the sun, if not brighter. He turned around and headed back towards his desk, "See you tonight." He said as he walked away.

"What time is tonight?" You asked him, just now realizing he never told you the time.

"Oh, 9 o'clock, at my place." He specified as if  you would forget.

"Okay, gotcha. 9 o'clock at your place, I'll be there."

You and Sabo met at this job, you both started around the same time so of course there'd be a bond between the two of you. There hasn't been any flirting though, just a regular friendship. You both would hang out after work often since you had kind of the same interest, you both like drinking, that's for sure. You may have developed a little crush on him, no advances were made on it though because you also liked your friendship. Not that you confessing would ruin it, it's just that neither one of you are looking for a relationship at the moment, so you just ignored the feelings. You went back to work, a little bit more excited to get off than you were 5 minutes ago.

After what felt like 10 hours, you were finally off. You hurriedly grabbed your belongings and practically ran out of the building, in fear of your boss stopping you on your way out to talk to you. You sighed in relief as you exited the building, "See you at 9 Sabo." You waved to him on your way to your car.

"See yah!" He called out and you smiled at him. You then got into your car and drove home to get yourself ready.

You got home and took off your shoes almost immediately and went into your closet. Since the gathering was gonna be at his place, you didn't wanna wear anything fancy or nice, but you also didn't wanna dress homely so you just decided to go casual. You pulled out some jeans that were hanging up and a random crop top then went into the bathroom to take a shower.

After you finished taking a shower you put on your outfit and then fixed up your hair in a ponytail and checked the time. It was a little bit past 7 so you decided to wait a bit before putting on eyeliner and mascara. You plopped down on couch and started watching tv for a bit, "I'll put my makeup on at 9 and then leave. I don't wanna get there super early..." You mumbled to yourself as you took another glance at the time on your phone and let out a sigh of anticipation..."Fuck it." You said as you stood up, put on your makeup and headed out the door.

You pulled your phone out of your pocket and called Sabo. After a few rings, he picked up, "Yo." He answered.

"Hey, Imma head over to your place a little early. I'm bored at this house." You told him bluntly and he laughed.

"Alright then, I guess we can drink a bit before everyone gets here." He said.

"A little pregame action? Fine by me! See you in a bit!" You said and hung up before he could say anything else and got into your car and drove to his house.
