"(Y/n), will you ever stop looking out of that window?" Your older sister asked you as she walked into your room. "You're supposed to be studying."

"All I've ever done was study study study. I'm tired of studying, I'm tired of living my life for someone else." You confessed, putting the quill down.

"Watch your tone before mother hears you. You know she doesn't like when you talk like that." Your sister scolded, making you scoff.

"Why am I even doing this in the first place? Why couldn't have been you instead?" You asked.

"Because, the prince coming from the next kingdom over is younger than me. That isn't ideal in mother's eyes." She turned toward the door, "Now get back to study. I'm sure you don't want to get scolded by mother." She closed they door.

You sighed to yourself as you looked at the book in front of you. You tried to reads the words written inside, but it was like they were dancing. You couldn't even focus enough to read a full sentence properly before giving you.

You let out an aggravated sigh and turned around in your chair to the cloak hanging on the coat hanger near your wardrobe. You stood up and walked towards it, "Guess it's that time again." You say to yourself and opened your wardrobe, pulling out a dress that was less colorful and frilly than the one you were currently wearing. You wanted to move well and not stand out. You put on the dress and cloak and opened the window, climbing down the vines that grew next to it.

Once you made it to the ground safely, you threw on the hood and headed into town square. The most vibrant party of the city. Town square was your favorite place to be, all the people, the food, the dance and singing. It was wonderful, you could never get enough of it.

You were walking around and looking at all the different shops and kiosks, wondering what place to stop at next until you bumped into the back of someone, "Oh my goodness, I deeply apologize. I wasn't looking at where I was going."

The blond man you walked into the back of turned around, "You don't have to apologize, it was my fault for standing in the way." He smiled at you, you blushed a bit.

You stared into his deep blue eyes, mesmerized by the color, "I would like to see-" "There she is!" You heard a guard shout, pointing towards you and you cursed to yourself and took off running, 'Why now?!' You screamed internally as you ran to try and lose them.

You ran into an alleyway and hid behind the crates, breathing softly so that you wouldn't be heard. A couple of seconds later you heard a gathering of footsteps stop in front of the exact alley you hid in, "Damn, where'd she go?!"

"How'd we lose her?!"

"Maybe she went that way. Let's split up and search." You heard the footsteps get softer as they all ran in different directions. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding in.

Suddenly you felt someone grab you wrist, "Hey lil' missy. You seem like you got some nice jewelry on you." A thief said as he pushed up the sleeve of your cloak.

You tried to get your wrist out of his grip but the man was surprisingly strong, his grip only getting tighter as you kept trying, "P-please, let go. Y-you're hurting me." You pleaded.

"I wonder how much I'll get if I sell you as a whole, you look like you're worth a pretty penny. He stroked his beard as he looked you up and down.

Fear started to overtake you and your knees started to shake, "You heard the lady say let go." A voice said and you both turned to look at the entrance of the alleyway.
