*Edward Cullen*

Opening my eyes, slightly dazed, no idea where I was. I tried to focus my best and saw that I was at an abandond place. I could hear a faint train. I concentrated on my surroundings, but quick panic arose, where was my Bella? I was about to get up and run when something stopped me. Rope? I realized now I was tied up in a chair with rope. Nothing covered my mouth, I could yell. Who could even kidnap us? Was this a kidnap? A dream? So many questions pondering my head. I then looked around, only to see my Bella sleeping, also tied in a chair. However she was sitting on the edge of the floor, there was a huge whole behind her that if she moved too far, she'd fall. I tried to get out of the rope but I couldn't. There was a stinging when I pulled too hard, it was then I noticed a drumming sound in my ear and chest. Was I..... alive? Had my heart restored itself and brought me back to life? Highly unlikely.

"See you've woken up." A dark man stood in front of me. I concentrated hard, but it was no use, I could not read the man's mind. What was going on? I tried once more to pull at the rope, no use.

"There's no need. You're a Spirit now. A small potion I've been working on. See that blinking blue light on your ankle?" He said smiling evily. I looked down, only now noticing a metal cuff with a blue blinking light.

"Power dampener. You're gift is currently unable to be used. Though yours isn't the one I'm worried about.... it's hers. She could do so much damage with a flick of her wrist." He said signaling his head towards my beloved. Bella also had a dampening cuff on her ankle like a prisoner. Her head hanging to her shoulder as she was sleeping. I couldn't see his face, cursing my now weaker vision, I tightened my fists. I wanted to punch him, to take my beloved and run.

"How did you even manage to knock us out?" I asked, my voice raspy. I cleared my throat and waited for an answer. He only laughed.

"Weak vampire, the Spirit World is full of more things than you'll ever know. Pitch Black is the opposite of the Sandman. The Sandman restores dreams and pathetic hopes." He said.

"Pitch Black's nightmare sand gives them their worst fears as they sleep. I was able to reduce the darkness and knock you out with sleeping sand. Then I turned you both into temporary Spirits and used the cuffs to take away your powers." He explained as he paced around.

"Now, I must bring my men. You will suffer Cullen. You and the pathetic Princess." He said and walked away the shadows darkness.

I sat there for long. I was a Spirit. A living person once again. The thought made my head spin, an odd sensation I had not felt since 1918 as I laid on the medical bed.

After what seemed like forever, Bella began to awoke. Her eyes shot open and she pulled on the ropes.

"Bella, you can't. He turned us into Spirit's." I said trying not to alarm her. She quickly looked at her surroundings and frowned.

"Where are we?" She asked looking around.

"I don't know, somewhere in an abandond place. I can hear a train nearby though." I said and she nodded.

"He dampened our gifts." She said looking at her cuff. "Yeah." I said simply and sighed.

"Nightmare huh? I can see the black sand on the floor. They're going to either interrogate us or torture us considering the table." Bella said looking down. I looked to my left and noticed a table with tools. Oh god. She was right.

"I should have protected you. I failed you. I want nothing more than to take you away from this..... but I can't." I admitted and looked down in shame.

"Edward, this isn't your fault. Neither of us saw him coming. I don't expect you to protect me every time. You have not failed me." Bella said softly. Just then we heard footsteps. Bella and I got quiet and looked.
