Quinn was miserable.
She wasn't booking any roles, she was barely spending time with her friends, and she felt sad and angry all the time.
Quinn had tried calling Puck a few times since she performed at the café, but he didn't answer, so she quickly gave up.
On Friday morning, Quinn got a phone call from Shelby.
"Hi, Shelby." Quinn answered the phone.
"Hey, Quinn." Shelby replied. "I was calling to see if you and Dylan wanted to join Beth and myself for dinner tonight at our apartment."
"Oh, I can't tonight." Quinn said. "Rachel planned this New Directions dinner and she'll kill me if I skip it."
"What about an early lunch?" Shelby suggested. "We can keep it light so you can still go to dinner."
"Yeah, I think that'll work." Quinn responded. "What time?"
"How about 11?" Shelby suggested. "I know that's in an hour, but it's casual. Don't go crazy."
"Okay." Quinn said. "Is there anything I can bring?"
"Nope." Shelby answered. "See you in an hour."
"See you in an hour." Quinn repeated as she hung up the phone.

Quinn fixed her dress as she knocked on Shelby's door. Not knowing if Puck would be there or not, she suddenly felt nervous.
The apartment door opened and Shelby stood there with a big smile on her face. "Hi, Quinn. Come in. Beth's inside."
"Hi." Quinn smiled back as she stepped inside.
"No Dylan today?" Shelby asked.
"No Dylan anymore." Quinn explained as Beth entered the room. "We broke up. I'm surprised you haven't heard. I feel like it's in every tabloid and entertainment news article lately."
"Well, you know I don't buy into anything I read in tabloids." Shelby reminded Quinn. "But I'm sorry to hear that. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I actually am." Quinn shrugged as she looked at Beth. "Hey, pretty girl."
"That's you." Beth responded.
"Nuh uh." Quinn shook her head as she picked up the blonde and kissed her cheek. "How are you, B?"
"Good!" Beth exclaimed. "Mommy made mac and cheese for lunch."
"It's a side dish, but she thinks it's the entire meal." Shelby added with a smile.
Beth shrugged. "It is!"
Quinn laughed lightly as she put Beth down. "That's a Fabray thing."
Beth grinned proudly.
"She's so picky. I swear, she gets worse everyday." Shelby told Quinn.
"Yeah, that sounds like me." Quinn nodded. "And when I was pregnant, most of my diet was bacon, macaroni and cheese, and fast food - mostly fries."
"That's what I like, too." Beth said.
"I'm sure it drives you crazy, Shelby." Quinn stated. "It drove Noah crazy, but he never said anything because he didn't wanna upset me."
"It's okay." Shelby shrugged. "And speaking of Puck, where is he today?"
Quinn furrowed her eyebrow. "I'm not sure, I haven't heard from him."
"Yeah, I asked him to join us, but he didn't answer my call or texts." Shelby said.
Quinn shrugged.
"Well, come inside." Shelby commanded. "Let's eat."
