"Keep in mind that there will always be a difference between love and lust." -Random book quote I forgot the title to.

My eyes shot open as I was abruptly woken up by the sound of a phone ringing. My heart raced, realizing that it was my ringtone. My adrenaline rushed, my hands desperately felt around the couch and my blanket trying to find my phone.
Once I was able to successfully locate my phone, I was expecting it to be my parents calling me, but furrowed my eyebrows when I saw Jack's name appear across my screen.
My eyes widened as I saw that it was three in the morning.
I had dozens of missed calls from my parents, and various missed calls and messages from Jack.
"Shit, oh God." I muttered to myself as I suddenly got a rush of energy and felt wide awake. I quickly turned the television off and I picked up.
"Hello?" My voice shook.
"What the hell, Hal! Are you okay?" Jack shouted at me, but I heard the relief in his voice.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. I just accidentally fell asleep." I said quietly as I bit the inside of my lip and rubbed my eyes. My heart was still racing and pounding so loud I could swear Nick could here it.
"Accidentally?! Where are you? You have mom, dad, and I worried sick! We've been trying to contact you for over an hour!" His voice was raised slightly.
"I know, I'm really sorry. I just... I just fell asleep at a friend's house. I was going to pick mom and dad up." I rambled.
"Friend? Are you with Nickolas?" He asked, his voice was stern.
I let out a shaky breath and picked at the ends of my hair, "Uhm, yeah."
"Hal." I could hear the anger in his voice, "You know the rules. You know mom and dad will be upset."
I rolled my eyes, "And the rules don't apply to you? You're visiting your girlfriend." I shot back.
"We aren't talking about me right now. It's the second time you give me a scare like that, Hal."
My chest tightened and I held my breath for a moment, "I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to. I really was going to pick them up from the airport. I wasn't going to spend the night, I swear." I sighed, feeling guilty for making them all worry for me.
I felt Nick stir in his sleep. He lifted his head slightly and sat up on the couch looking between me and the clock on the wall.
"Just-" Jack stopped talking for a moment, "At least you're okay. You guys didn't do anything, right?" He asked, his voice was muffled through the phone.
My eyes widened at his question, "What?! Oh, God. No, I promise. We were just watching television and we just fell asleep."
I heard him sigh in relief, "Okay, I'm glad you're safe."
"Yeah." I replied quietly, "I really am sorry. I didn't mean to scare you guys. I don't know what happened. I didn't even know I had fallen asleep. I didn't even hear my phone when you guys tried calling."
