I was awoken with a pounding headache.

I opened my eyes and realized that I was in my bed. I looked down at myself and saw that I was still wearing my dress.

I furrowed my eyes in confusion, I looked around, almost skeptical if it really was my room.

A picture of my family on the beach indeed confirmed that it was my room.

I let out a sigh in relief.

Wait, how did I get here?

I attempted to roll out of bed but my nauseousness forced me in bed.

I covered my face with my hands and sighed.

"Jack?" I mumbled, my mouth felt dry.

I heard no response but I heard him in the kitchen and I smelled eggs and bacon.

I forced myself to get up out of bed and slipped off my dress and put on the closest hoodie and leggings I could find.

I walked into the kitchen.

"Oh, you're up?" Jack asked as he looked up at me and back at the frying pan, "Did the smell of bacon wake you?" He chucked to himself.

I smiled weakly and frowned, "Actually it was the pounding headache."

I walked up to the medicine cabinet and took out a Tylenol.

He glanced over to me and sighed, "You promised you weren't going to drink too much."

"I didn't." I said quietly.

"How many beers?" He asked. He finished frying the bacon and turned off the stove.

"Two." I answered as I slowly walked over to the fridge and took out the orange juice.

"Two wouldn't have caused you to get that drunk." He faced me, I could tell that he thought I was lying.

"I'm not lying. I only had two." I replied quietly.

"As in two two? Or two dozen?" He asked as he raised an eyebrow.

"Jack." My voice broke and eyes glossed over, "I only had two. I swear. You know I promised myself never to get drunk again."

His face softened. He put the two plates of food that he just had served back down on the counter and he stared at me, "It's okay I believe you. Just-shit, Hal you scared me last night."

"How do you think I felt? I was so confused, I only had two beers. Two beers isn't supposed to get me drunk." I mumbled as I began sobbing.

"No- no, you're okay. You're fine, nothing happened." He said as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Sheri left me at the party." I continued crying.

I felt him hug me tighter, "I know." He sighed, "This other girl helped though."

"Laura." I cried into his chest.

"Yeah." He said softly.

After a few moments I pulled away from the hug, I looked away from him. I hated people seeing me cry, especially the people I love the most, "Thank you, for uh- picking me up."
