Everybody Hates Me- The Chainsmokers
I was face up in the water as I felt the water carrying me away. I didn't know where it was taking me but all I knew was that I was relieved. I was so relieved. I didn't have to fight anymore. I didn't have to defend, save or kill anymore. I didn't have to do anything anymore except wait. Wait to die and that's what I was going to do because it wasn't going to be long now I felt it. The two bullet wounds in my chest told me that as, like the others did earlier, made the creek turn red with blood.
Then a silly poem Felix would read to me came to my head.
'The river ran red,
with blood and sweat
down and down it went,
down and down it lead. The river ran red,
peasant went around,
from body to body they went
and from body to body they bled. The river ran red
with blood of the knights
down and down it goes,
as more and more they bled.children cried and women wailed,
but the peasant did nothing,
cept going round and round taking lost things.
as the knights turned redThe river ran red
with blood and sweat
down and down it went
down and down it lead. The river did run red with blood but it was my blood this time.
(Leon's POV)
As soon as that cop fired that second shot we retaliated. We shot until he fell to the ground but he was still breathing. I ran over to the railing and look down for her but all that remained was blood. So much blood it was sickening. I didn't even know if it was her blood or the blood that was already all over her. "Keep him alive. We'll take him to lock up." Aiden says and two men grab his arms and drag him away. "Everyone else follow the creek. We're not leaving this place until we find Blake. Alive, or dead."
I look to Aiden as he stood by me looking down into the creek. He shook his head and looked up to the sky as of saying a silent prayer. "Felix needs to know." I say and he nods with out looking at me.
"Go ahead and tell him. I don't want to be the one to break this new."
"Do you think she's dead?"
"She took two bullets to the chest and she fell down there. I know she's strong Leon but no one is that strong. I don't want her to be dead, but I have little faith that she's still alive." He says and I hesitate looking down to the creek one more time.
"She's still alive. She's gotta be. We'll all be lost with out her."
"Go on and get out of here Leon. More bounty hunters are coming so we have to search fast. We can't give them a chance to find her first." I nod and start walking away but I stop and look to him.
"Aiden." I say and he looks at me. "She's not dead until we find her body. Besides, she's the game changer. She can't be dead." He nods and gives me a weak smile.
"I'm sure you're right about that."
"I am." I say before walking away and jogging over to my bike. I get on it shoving my helmet on and starting up the engine before racing away. Felix needed to know and I knew he was going to be pissed but he should be. He didn't come with us. He didn't see what we all saw. He didn't witness that. I did. Aiden did. All of us did but he didn't because he's too much of an idiot to come and help us save her mad now it just might be too late. For her and for him. It's too late for everyone because Blake wasn't the game changer.
