Chan, Minho and Changbin traveled their way to the city by feet since it wasn't that far but the shortest among the trio kept complaining. Changbin still don't trust Minho and he didn't want to help rescue the blonde's brother but he just couldn't let Chan be with Minho all alone. Something might happen that only god knows fucking what.
He was also scared, why? While Chan was at the basement, men in black came rushing in and took the others. The three bodies back there were those men which Changbin knocked out before the smoke got thicker and he lost sight of the others. He didn't know those people but he was certain for a blonde. Especially when Minho kept Chan from marching inside the burning house, it was like he knew the others weren't there.
"Strange," said Chan as he observed the city from afar. It wasn't crowded as how it should be, not a single person was out of their homes and the place was awfully quiet. There were no city guards around the white palace's gigantic doors too, no peacekeepers patrolling each side of the city. Chan knew something was wrong, it felt like the people who want him dead knew he was coming and plotted against him.
But in order to help Minho feel better, he was going to do something so stupid. Also Hyunjin could be possibly still alive and he was held capture and nothing was going to hold Chan back from saving his friend. "Let's go, don't act too suspicious."
"The city's already suspicious enough," Changbin muttered as he pulled his hood over his head, rolling his eyes for the nth time at the couple's intertwined hands. Minho kept his mouth sewed, letting Chan pull him wherever they were heading. He couldn't tell Chan what was waiting for them behind the tall and proud doors. He didn't want Chan to be furious at him, to fall out of love for him, to leave him.
Despite the clear grounds the city had, Chan could feel hundreds of presence aside from the two people beside him. He stopped on his tracks, already halfway to the doors through the white palace. "Hold up, something's coming."
From each and every corner of Jungle City, armed soldiers began to spread out and sat still in their positions around the trio. Every type of weapons were directed to Chan, all determined to take the once unstoppable leader of the rebels. Then a blonde boy in uniform stepped out from the doors, Chan eyed him carefully, taking in his features that resembled Minho's. "My brother have his men surrounding you, make one wrong move and it's the end of you," the blonde stated with much authority and Chan immediately knew he was from the palace. He gripped Minho's hand tightly, not wanting to lose him in this situation and completely oblivious of what was to come.
"Bring Hyunjin back," Chan commanded but the blonde boy only laughed at him. Nevertheless, the doors open and it revealed not only Hyunjin but all of his friends chained all together in an iron bar. Hyunjin lifted his head, making eye contact with the leader who was in great shock to see everyone alive. Chan's heart banged against his ribcage, was he seeing things right? How can they be alive when he saw their bodies being burnt?
"My brother ordered his men to take your friends and-"
"Who is this brother are you fucking talking about?" Chan wasn't buying it unless he knew who the brother was. It just didn't make sense at all, why would a person from the palace know about their whereabouts?
"That man you're holding," the blonde began as Chan turned to look at Minho. He was hoping it wasn't what he was thinking but he can't stop himself from connecting all the dots together; Minho staying with him and the soldiers already tracking them that easily, all the attacks and kidnapping, it all fitted perfectly in the puzzle Chan was trying to solve. Don't say it. "Is my brother."
"Chan, I can explain!" Minho held him by the shoulders, his voice wasn't getting inside Chan's head. All the explanation Minho said was nothing to him now, his friends were far away from his reach and Minho-
"You betrayed me?" Chan laughed bitterly and stumbled towards Minho, his arms resting around the other's waist as he fill in his lungs with the blonde's scent. He was getting mad about everything, should he just give up? No, he wouldn't, why? Because he is the Bang fucking Chan, who's known for the things he want to make happen. He pulled the only weapon he has from his belt, wrapping his arm around Minho's torso and placed the dagger dangerously under the blonde's jaw.
"Chan, what are you doing?" Minho hissed but Chan ignored him, instead he looked at Hyunjin's eyes and the corners of his lips curved up.
"Let my friends go or I'll slice your brother's head off!"
