Before I Forget Your Love

Ch.3 Confrontation

Adam stepped slowly approaching Scarlett who sat on a bench by the river .. he sat next to her leaving a distance between both of them .. after a long time of silence he decided to talk.

" If you've already made your mind .. Why did you call me ? " Adam asked furiously

Scarlett got a bit worried but quickly got her thoughts together and answered, " I knew this day would come after all , but all I wanted to tell you is I'm really sorry for the way I left you. "

Adam sat quiet for a moment then asked : Where did I go wrong ? 

" It's not your fault Adam . From all along I loved being with you but I think I'm not ready for the day we get married " Scarlett answered.

" Last night I was thinking I must have hurt you, but this morning I remembered you've never told me you love me .. maybe that's all what it is about. I lived a lie .. You lied to me.. "

Scarlett said quietly : " I didn't .. I just didn't want this misunderstanding last long. I thought that as long as we're together both of us would be happy .. cause we needed each other. "

" You just NEEDED me ?! "Adam exclaimed. 

"Adam I called you cause I don't want to lose you .. " Scarlett said.

"But you already lost me .." Adam answered and walked away quickly leaving scarlett in tears.

The phone buzzed .. It showed " Mum " on the screen .

Scarlett wiped her tears practicing a happy voice..

" Hey mum...No, I'm fine .. no, I'm not going anywhere it's getting late already I'm heading home .. bye "

Next morning, Scarlet decided not to think anymore about what happened. she got dressed and picked up her files and got in her Nissan hurrying before it's 9:30. 

"You look pale, are you alright ? " Soly looked worried.

Scarlett looked in the mirror . no matter how she puts make  up , her red eyes tell that she's not okay.

" I'm fine . just busy working " Scarlett said quickly.

Soly stopped her , " No, you're not. I don't want to interfere but whenever you want to talk i'll always be there for you. "

" Thanks Soly. I do appreciate it, really" Scarlett said looking down.

After school. She wasn't ready to go home. She needs to be somewhere nobody knows her.

Scarlett found no harm in having a cup of coffee on her own. She headed to Waterlo's cafe.

The place is quiet today. Not crowded. only her and a man reading a newspaper. She loved the silence. 

When she looked out of the window, she saw a shadow of a familiar figure.. She remembered.. the lady in a blue dress. The woman from another century.

She looked closely .. The woman was approaching the cafe. Scarlett got way too nervous. " I look horrible, She can't see me like that .. Oh, wait ! she won't notice me like she never did.. "

Mixed feelings..  The woman in the blue dress looked older than Scarlett , Maybe she's 35 or 36. there's a small book in her hand. she doesn't seem willing to read it. she put it next to her cell phone ! She drank her coffee watching the TV.

Scarlett wanted to know what the woman feels so, Scarlett noticed that the woman's pretending to watch TV. crossed legs means she's nervous. That woman must be drowning in her thoughts.She looked beautiful though. 

Scarlett got distracted by the buzzing phone in her purse . It's Val.. " Come over, I'm bored .."

Scarlett sighed " alright Val , I guess I can't say no " 

Val opened the door wearing  jeans and t-shirt  .. looking bored as hell.

"I'm not used to seeing you like this . What's bothering you , Val ? " Scarlett asked.

" There's an article that should be done by Thursday and I didn't write a letter .. I'm bored .. let's go to the movies and I'll finish it tomorrow " Val suggested. 

" Okay Val. but I'm not picking the movie .. Last time I picked a horror movie .. It was a disaster " Scarlett laughed.

" It's ok, let's go " Val wore a jacket.
