Ch.8 Call Me When You're Sober !

Val was dancing not noticing Linda was recording till Linda smiled at the camera and said "Best Birthday Ever! " then the video ended.. 

Scarlet smiled to the black screen in front of her whispering sarcastically " you mean 'Best interview ever'" .. she stayed silence for an hour eating a cake pretending to be fine but deep down she felt disappointed as hell .. she was writing Val a song while she was getting drunk with her ex. Yes, Linda was Val's ex and they're "friends" now ! Scarlet felt stupid .. how could she fall for that?! Val likes Scarlet but they never talked about it so they're not together ,right ? Hell, then Why did she lie ? 

Scarlet found herself facing a thousand questions waiting to be answered but she felt like going crazy that she got no answers now or ever.

She went to the supermarket to let time pass but the more she waited the more confused she felt.. no use of waiting.. she decided to walk home thinking fresh air may help her calm down.. and when she got home she waited thinking for a minute before she picked her phone texting Val " Call me when you're sober ! " though she didn't want to hear Val's voice..

Next morning, Scarlet woke up looking at the clock .. it was still 5:20 .. there was 2 hrs for her to sleep till she gets up , but she felt wide awake ..she found herself sitting on her desk preparing her lessons she forgot to finish last night till she remembered why ! No texts or missed calls from Val. " She can't be the one who used to be my friend and  not even more than that !      God, Who is she ?" Scarlet thought.

Her mum was making breakfast , " Good morning sweety " Scarlet never saw Maggie getting up that early .. " Good morning mum , I'm happy to have breakfast with you but why are you awake that early ? "

" Oh, Scarlet ! I'm sorry I must have forgotten to tell you .. I started a partnership with Tiffany , You know her .. you saw her here before ! It's a bakery shop. We're putting last touches and it'll be opened by next Monday actually..

" Really ! You should've told me sooner but no matter what I'm proud of you mum.. wish you the best .. I'll see it on my way back home if you don't mind " Scarlet said as she was putting her cup of coffee back on the table.

" and I can't wait to hear your opinion .. It does matter to me a lot ! " Maggie said before scarlet hugged her and said goodbye !

Scarlet finished work at 4 and she was feeling exhausted but she promised Maggie to see her new shop though she was excited about it actually.. 

Colorful entrance , vases filled with flowers she knew those were her mum's choice .. she saw blue waves painting on the walls .. when she looked closely she noticed a variable shades of blue in the painting actually .. "There must be an artist to get this work done like this" Scarlet whispered to herself .

" Can't it be me ? " Tiffany whispered in her ear as she stood behind Scarlet who know her voice right away. " It's amazing actually .. " She felt Tiffany walks away from her .. Scarlet looked back to see a man walking in " the tables are all decorated as you wanted , mam " 

" Okay , about the shelves .. do you have any idea how we can decorate it ? " It was the first time for Scarlet to hear Tiffany talking serious .. Scarlet looked at her talking to the designer looking excited about her ideas .. she looked full of life .. no wonder Tiff took her breath away the first time she saw her at the cafe back then !

" Hey girl .. I didn't miss you, I've seen you this morning at school .. hahaha .. let's go out tonight to eat something and have fun ! " Soly suggested.

"Well, Miss Soly I guess there's no harm in having a little "fun", I'll be there at 8 .. " Scarlet ended the call.thinking " Val disappeared again but I feel like I have no right to worry about her after last night "

"I'm going to get Alex.. his friend's birthday party must be over .. it's 6 already .. Do you want to come with me ? " Tiffany suggested.

"Umm.. Sure.. I'd like to meet the little prince actually .. " Scarlet took her bag before Tiff closed the shop and get into her Ford asking Scarlet to get in.. the car felt like Tiffany, her perfume her favorite colors.. also the shop felt warm and beautiful.. Scarlet blinked many times to realize that Tiffany got a kid so she must be married .. but she never talked about her husband not even to Maggie .. anyways, It's non of my business she's a friend and that's all.

Alex went back to the car with his mum talking nonstop .. Scarlet didn't understand half of his words he's just 7. but he seemed excited and happy which made Scarlet happy too..

"Are you a friend of mum's ..? " Alex said as soon as he saw Scarlet.

" Yes , and my name's Scarlet. Can we be friends Alex ? " Scarlet asked smiling widely.

" Sure. mum told me you're our neighbor so we can play at the park or go to the beach only if you're going to play with me ! " Alex said.

"I'd like to , Alex. and I'll try but I'm not sure mommy has time for that !" Scarlet said.

"I'm sure there'll be time for all that .. don't worry" Tiff said to Scarlet sitting next to her smiling focusing on the road and as soon as they reached home Tiffany said " You must be a teacher by nature because Alex liked you . I'm amazed to be honest but I'll expect you more often ,right? Come in to have a cup of coffee ,Scarlet !" 

Scarlet looked at the time it was 7:50 already .. " I'd love to but I have to meet Soly in 10 minutes, I'll see you tomorrow .. bye " 

Scarlet went inside the night club with Soly who left her alone to say hi to an old friend .. Scarlet felt weird at first but weirdness faded away by the third shot .. She danced like it's the last night of her life .. A guy was dancing close to her and bought her a drink .. she was drunk as hell that she didn't realize what he was up to .. and when he touched her leg.. Scarlet felt a hand dragging her out of the place .. It was Val .. 

" You never drink that much .. What happened to you ? " Val Screamed as soon as they got out of the bar.

" What happened to me ! What happened to you, Val ? you lied to me and didn't call me for 2 days ..Where the hell have you been for 2 days ? " Scarlet started to walk away when Val's hand stopped her .." Where do you think you're going like that ? I'm driving you home "

Scarlet tried to argue but she felt she could fall any moment.. Once they got Scarlet's front door .. Scarlet got out of the car .. Val raised her voice " I'll call you tomorrow "

"I know you won't , Val " Scarlet answered without turning around.
