Ch.10 Perfect Imperfection

"When nobody is there to find , you have to find yourself.. " That what Scarlet told herself to overcome her disappointment in Val .. and as she expected Val is nowhere to be seen.. It's like they've been avoiding each other for 4 days now .. Scarlet stayed at home trying to write her sadness away .. hoping that Adam was still there .. Scarlet closed her eyes imagining Adam hugging her such a way to feel safe somehow .. she felt so lost..

Scarlet found out there's no use of staying here feeling numb .. she needs to live a real life.. since Adam's death she forgot everything that makes her happy and comfortable.. 

"Hello. I'm thinking about learning music .. when is the course starting ? alright , thank you" Scarlet hung up and took a deep breath starting to feel like herself again in a while ..

She decided to get a new guitar to help her composing her songs .. but when she got home she started to laugh that she hasn't learned anything yet .. it's starting in 2 days and she should be patient.. but she felt a bit of her soul is back when she read her old songs again ..

"Scarlet , Are you okay ? " Maggie asked after she opened the door slowly..  "yes, I'm fine mum, just a bit excited about something .. Are you going to see Tiffany ? "Scarlet asked shyly.

"last time I checked we own the same shop .. so she must be there .. Why ? " Maggie replied sarcastically.

Scarlet smiled feeling awkward " nothing .. I'll drive you there .. I want to get out for sometime" 

As soon as the red Nissan reached the shop , Scarlet's heart skipped a beat she might meet Tiffany any second though she came here to see her.. Scarlet was wearing black jeans and white t-shirt , she looked like a high school girl again .. she felt like getting back her full potential again.

Scarlet got out of the car to help her mum carry a few things for the shop .."Okay, sweety I have to go .."  Scarlet felt happy to see Maggie interested in something again . It made her look alive.

As scarlet was shuffling the songs and before she started the car to go , she noticed Tiffany's black car .. She watched her as she was in a hurry before she heard Tiffany's gasp.. Scarlet realized something went wrong .. she got out of her car to see what happened..

" Are you okay ? " Scarlet asked while approaching Tiff trying to detect why Tiffany's face got pale .. 

"I was thinking of million things and I realized I left my keys inside my car.. " Tiffany said nervously.  "Do you have spare keys .. ? " Scarlet asked .. " Yes but the keys are at home and I can't go back home to get them now .. It's the first day and I have a lot of work to do .. I'm sorry  I must be bothering you with this matter .. I'll go home to get them at night .. "

" I can help If you want .. I mean your house is quiet far from here. So, don't be worried all day I'll be around till you finish work to get your keys back. okay ?" Scarlet suggested.

Tiffany understood Scarlet's insistence " Okay .. Scarlet. I'm glad you're here as you promised "

Scarlet felt fire inside her heart when her eyes met Tiffany's .. Same feeling but a million times stronger today .. " Good luck then, Call me if you need anything " Scarlet said and left blushing.

Maggie left the shop early to prepare recipes at home .. but Tiffany stayed there till closing time , it's almost 9 so Scarlet headed there to help Tiffany as she promised .. She was happy and nervous .. she thought" It's okay . I'm just helping a friend . Why am I nervous?! " 

Scarlet parked the car and walked inside .. It was getting late , so the place was almost empty except there was a tall man standing next to the counter talking to Tiffany .. like he knows her very well .. he doesn't look like a costumer .. Scarlet decided to stay outside and not to interfere. on her way out she heard the man yell " Don't tell me what to do .. I let you work though It'd effect the kid .. I never asked you anything but all I ask for is a good mother for my son.. so I'll stay with him while you work"

Scarlet felt embarrassed to hear what's non of her business and stayed in her car when she saw the man burst out of the door seemed angry. Scarlet went in pretending she just arrived.

" Oh! Thanks god you're here ! I thought you won't show up .. ! " Tiff said

"And Why wouldn't I come back ?" 

"It's late already and you must have work tomorrow .. I thought I'd walk home and get the car back in the morning .. " 

" You don't have to .. I'm here ..It's a bit late actually but I don't have work tomorrow .. I'm here for you Tiffany " Scarlet said. 

Tiffany smiled " Okay then .. I'm closing the shop , can you help me !? " 

After everything is done Scarlet waited for Tiffany next to the door .. Tiffany turned off the lights not realizing she's too close to Scarlet till she felt her breath on her neck.. She felt magnet pulling her towards Scarlet who stood still knowing how close they are now .. A moment of silence felt like a year of waiting..until Tiffany's phone rang. Scarlet got back to earth again.

"Hey, Honey .. Yes I'm coming home .. No, I won't be late .. love you ! " Tiff hung up laughing awkwardly " It was Alex .. shall we go ?! " 

Tiffany and Scarlet stayed quiet the whole ride till they got back to Tiffany's car in front of the shop.. Till Scarlet felt brave to ask " I've seen a man getting out of the shop when I arrived , he seemed angry .. was there a problem at work ? " 

" No, No.. Don't worry .. That's Matt .. my ex-fiance. I don't talk about him much cause he's not a part of my life anymore . he's just Alex's father .. " Tiffany explained looking down.

"I'm sorry I know I shouldn't have asked .. I was worried about you and I didn't know who he was " Scarlet felt embarrassed. 

" Don't be .. You have the right to know everything ! I want you to know every single thing in my life ! " Tiffany half smiled When Scarlet held her hand and kissed her on the cheek" see you tomorrow , Tiffany"
