Ch.9 Where did I go wrong ?

Two days passed with no calls or texts from Val.. Scarlet couldn't feel more disappointed in her but she was helpless stuck between wanting to end this shit and hoping things get better between her and Val .. sometimes she wishes they were still friends.. 

" Do you have work today honey ? " Maggie asked.

"Yes, mum.. It's the last day .. I'm taking a vacation for 2 weeks .. I need a break actually !" Scarlet sighed..

she was getting ready when she heard the door bell ringing and her mum was in the kitchen preparing breakfast so she opened the door to see Tiffany in front of her.. 

"Good morning, Tiffany. How is the shop ? " Scarlet asked while greeting Tiffany with shiny eyes. "everything is fine. hope to see you there on Monday .. You may bring me luck !" Tiffany said.

" Sure I'll be there .. but I'm afraid I won't be able to have my coffee anywhere else but there if I liked the coffee there ! I'd miss Waterlo's .. It used to be my place for years" Scarlet said feeling awkward.

" Wait a minute ! was that you all the time? the girl with the pencil ? " Tiffany asked.                       "yes, I like to write whatever comes on mind while drinking coffee. It's kinda my thing .. I don't know ! " Scarlet blushed.

" I know you're late but I'd like to see what you write ! I'm feeling curious " Tiffany said.               "sure, we'll have all the time then .. I mean to know what you think of what I write" Scarlet felt nervous when that woman is around so she decided to leave quickly..

It's 3 already and Scarlet felt like a kid feeling happy and excited for summer vacation.. then she felt cold water inside her heart remembering Val who called right away .. Scarlet didn't want to answer right away especially after Val's ignorance but she had to end this no matter what.

"Hello, Valeria ! What's up ? " Scarlet spoke casually before Val understood what Scarlet meant by that .. " Please don't, Where are you? I want to see you ! " Val said feeling down.

" Okay Val ! I'm at school " Scarlet felt naive for being patient again.

" Won't you try to tell me what's going on , Val ? Why didn't you tell me about Linda's party? and why the hell do you disappear that much lately ?.. Tell me what's happening ! "

as they were walking Val tried to avoid eye contact by looking the other way till she finally decided to say something .. " You know you mean a lot to me and you will never get how much I care about you .. "

" but .. ?! " 

"Linda and I decided to get back together to give it a try .. I'm sorry I wanted to tell you but I was afraid of losing you .. and that day when I told you about the interview I didn't mean to lie to you but I knew it might hurt your feelings and I didn't want to hurt you especially after everything you went through .."

" Where did I go wrong ? You must think she's more beautiful, smarter or even funnier than I am .. Oh  God why do I even wonder ? Go wherever the hell you want ! And don't you ever say you care for me again .. you must have known the weight of the words you say ! you must have thought about it for a second before making a move but you know why you didn't consider all that ?  Cause you're selfish, Val ! you only care about the one you see in the mirror .. " Scarlet said leaving Val who said " Scarlet, wait .. I'm sorry, I love you and ... "

" Don't " Scarlet got in her car holding back her tears cause she didn't want to be weak in front of Val. When she made sure Val's gone she parked and punched the wheel angrily before she cried..

Scarlet felt so stupid for believing her feelings towards Val .. she knows Val very well .. she never stayed in a relationship more than 3 months.. She felt super sad to lose her only best friend..
