Scarlett sat on a bench at the park .. drinking her coffee watching people trying to be okay by forgetting all about herself.. she wanted to give herself a break.
She saw a dog trying to catch a ball .. heard a laugh of a little boy playing hide and seek .. saw teenagers riding bikes .. she figured out that there's a whole big world out there.
Scarlett felt that there's a life waiting for her .. a ghost of a smile showed on her lips not knowing why she's smiling but she felt she wanted to run till she's exhausted.. to do something extreme .. something unlike her.
Nobody was there to talk to , this was the first time for her to feel alone but free..
The only thing she was good at is writing poetry .. so she wrote all about it..
after each poem .. each song .. she started to know herself more .. last night it was a blurred vision but it's getting clear thinking about her dreams her job.. She thought she might use a friend..
Scarlett : Hey Val .. mind to meet me at Waterlo's cafe ? no. don't worry we're not gonna talk about work .. something a little bit more intereseting .. "WWZ" movie .... just kidding .. waiting for you !
Scarlett went inside and picked a table waiting for Val. she used to watch people's faces and reactions without invading their privacy to guess what they feel inside without hearing them talk while she was waiting, she saw a girl sitting alone checking her phone many times then she looked around for a second and looked back at her phone not knowing a particular thing to do .. she was nervous .. a little bit too nervous to look at anybody in the eye . she felt freaking lonely .. she must have been waiting for someone she has a crush on .. she can't be that nervous meeting a friend ..
Five minutes later .. a boy showed up pretending to be bored when he saw her waiting for him..
Scarlett decided not to focus on what was going on between them cause it's not her bussiness but at least she knew how the girl felt and scarlett was sorry for her .. but maybe all her guessing was wrong .. whatever !
" Will you ever get out of your palace of fantasy to answer people ?! I missed you girl ,, where've you been ? "
Val was Scarlett's neighbor .. she works as a journalist , that's why she's so talkative ..
" You don't seem to stop talking .. do you ?" Scarlett replied sarcastically .
" I'm sorry okay .. I'm not feeling stable lately .." She apologized looking at her friend.
" It's okay . now, what's wrong with you ? I'm a bit worried " Val said.
" I broke up with Adam " Scarlett said
" What .. why ? what happened?!! " Val seemed worried.
" he called me telling me he was waiting outside .. I got dressed up to meet him . he took me to a fancy restaurant .. It was cool but then things got crazy when he held my hand taking a little box out of his pocket asking me to marry him ! " Scarlett said.
" and ... !? " Val asked.
"that's all.. I looked at him feeling sorry for what I was about to do .. then I stormed out of the place leaving him wondering why .. " Scarlett said
Val seemed to be confused " then, Why ? Why didn't you say yes .. you guys love each other already .. what was wrong with your mind back then ? "
" I don't know .. If I'm in love with someone I'd marry them .. I mean, I love Adam but not romantically .. I love everything about him but I don't love him .. see what I mean ? "
Val looked around for a second and asked " Is there anyone else ? "
"What do you mean ? "
" Don't get me wrong .. but you must have feelings for somebody else to act that way ! "
Scarlett raised her brows " No, not at all. I'm not in love with anyone ..... yet ! "
She saw a woman reading a book .. elegant , different , blond hair, red lipstick , blue eyes .. wearing a simple blue dress like she was from another century.. drinking coffee like it's a very valuable liquid holding her book like it's made of gold.. not noticing the crowded place..
Scarlett forgot about everything for a second ..
" Hellooo .. Are you even listening to me ? "
Scarlett retreated to herself shocked realizing where she was and who was talking..
" Umm sorry I'm totally listening just thinking a bit.
"about .. ! ?
" About who I might be in love with like the movies .. you know .. that feeling you get when you love someone .. I don't want to bore you .. I'm heading home .."
Val picked up her purse " okay .. let's walk you home .. I'm afraid you can't cross the street looking like this "
Scarlett hugged Val " thank you Val for being there "
Scarlett finished all the paperwork waiting to be done 2 days ago.. and prepared her lessons for tomorrow ... and then she decided to call Adam.
