I went to the closest hotel and got a room. I would stay here for the night. I was going to have to find an apartment if I planned to stay in LA. Part of me just wanted to go back home to Arizona. I had to think about what I was going to do. I mean, I only moved here to be with Marcus. I hadn't made that many friends in the time I had been here because I was always working. So was there anything really worth staying for? Then my phone rings, it's Bruno. Of course it is. I sigh. "Hey Bru what's up?" I try to sound like I hadn't been crying forever. "Hey Monique just wondering if you and Marcus wanted to come over tonight? I'm having a little get together." He says. "Oh... Thanks Bru but I don't think I'm going to be able to make it." I say. Dammit my voice was cracking thanks to his mention of Marcus. "Monique, is everything okay?" He asks. "Yes I'm fine Bru but I gotta go." I say and I hang up before he can protest.
