Many years ago
"Hurry, this girl needs immediate medical attention!" The man who carried you yelled as he ran into the hospital. You opened your eyes and squinted as you looked around, trying to understand what was going on. Your body was then taken from the man, a medical ninja laying you down on a hospital bed and pulling up your shirt to examine the wound.
"A kunai to the stomach, how cruel doing something like this to a child," they muttered, wiping the blood away. You hissed in pain, unable to get over how much it hurt and the fact that you weren't dead. Wanting clarity, you decided to ask.
"Am I dead?" The medical nin laughed as they began pulling away your blood-soaked clothing, changing you into clean clothes.
"Nope, you're pretty alive. But if you don't get this wound sorted out then you'll die, I won't let that happen though," they explained, wiping it with alcohol to sterilize it. It hurt like hell but it was went away after they injected something into your arm which made you feel sleepy.
"I feel tired," you yawned. They chuckled and pet your head.
"This is just so I can sew you up and you don't have to feel it, okay?" You lazily nodded before falling into a deep slumber.

You woke up the next day to the sound of rain. Turning your head you could see out the window, the dark grey sky looked angry, water falling from the clouds, running down the window. A nurse entered and smiled when they saw that you were awake.
"You feeling better, sweetheart?" they asked. You nodded your head, looking down at your abdomen where you had been bandaged up. It still hurt a bit but it wasn't anything you couldn't handle.
"So, I just wanted to ask you a few questions about who you are and where you've come from, is that okay?" she asks softly.
"Yes, but can I ask where I am?" She smiled, pushing some of your hair back and out of your face.
"Well, you're in Amegakure of course." Nodding, you turned back to her, watching as she picked up and pen along with a clipboard.
"Can I please have your name, age and then tell me where you've come from?" You hummed in response as you thought about what you were going to say. There were many things which you couldn't mention so you decided lying about somethings would be beneficial.
"My name is (Y/n)."
"And your last name?" You sighed, rubbing your head.
"I don't have one," you lied. She nodded, writing it down before moving onto the next question.
"And your age?"
"Eleven"
"Alright and where are you from?" she asked, looking up at you.
"I lived in that village," you lied, "But someone came in and started killing everyone there, even my family." To add to the narrative, you forced tears to your eyes, the nurse looking down at you with sympathy.
"Hey, it's going to be okay. We'll sort something out and then you can stay here, I'm sure they'll let you, especially since your a civilian orphan." You nodded your head, wiping the crocodile tears from your eyes. She bid you goodbye before leaving the room, taking the clipboard with her.
Once you knew that she was definitely gone, you heaved out a long sigh. You hated to be manipulative but this was the only way you could get in. Now that you were here, you no longer had to live life of violence and death, you could be a normal person. A civilian with nothing that stood out about them, working and living like everyone else. Compared to everything you had been through, it sounded like the perfect life.

Present timeYou followed Pein and the rest of the Akatsuki to the entrance of their base. A large boulder blocked the entrance, Pein doing several hand signs before it moved out of the way to reveal an opening. You walked in second to last, after a boy with long blonde hair and with Konan behind you.
As soon as you were inside, everyone besides Pein and Konan went off on their own. It seemed that they had their own things to do, heading to their own rooms to spend some time away from each other.
"Welcome to the Akatsuki base," Pein announced, gesturing to the cave around you. It was very spacious, having tunnels which came off the main room, several hallways with many doors and an arch way which lead to a dirty kitchen. Your face scrunched up at the smell, Konan noticing and heaving out a quiet sigh.
"I'm sorry about that, the others here aren't the cleanliest," she apologized. You shook your head, bowing to her and Pein.
"There is no need to apologize to me, as of now I am back in the Akatsuki and am under your rule. I will do as you ask to the best of my ability," you promised before straightening up. Pein stared at you for a moment before walking off without another word. Konan watched as he walked down one of the many corridors, entering one of the rooms.
After the two of you heard the slamming of the door, Konan approached you. She held your hands in her own, looking down into your eye with a small smile.
"Nagato will come around, it's a shock to us all that you've come back. When you disappeared into that hole we were sure that you were dead, after all, the stories about that place all relate to death," she explained, trying to hide the fact that she felt very guilty about the whole ordeal. You hugged her, rubbing her back in a comforting fashion.
"There is no need to feel guilty, Konan. There was nothing any of you could've done to prevent me from being pushed down there, I don't have anyone to blame other than myself." She nodded, pulling back but keeping her hold on one of your hands.
"Come, I'll show you to your room." She lead you down another hallway lined with doors, stopping in front of one peeling with black pain to reveal the brown wood beneath. She unlocked the door with a key she had pulled from her pocket, handing it to you after she swung the door open.
"This is your room, if there is anything I can do to make it more comfortable, please don't hesitate to ask." You smiled at her, entering and looking around. There was a futon laying on the floor in the corner with blankets and a pillow next to it. On the other side of the room was an empty book shelf and a desk with a wooden chair. The final thing in the room was a large mat which covered the stone floor, not being big enough to cover the outer edges of the room.
"Everything is perfect, thank you, Konan." She sent you another smile before a loud explosion sounded. Konan gritted her teeth and glared out the door, the two of you being able to hear two people bickering.
"Sorry, (Y/n), but I'll leave you for now. I'll let you know when dinner is ready." Before you could say anything else, she slammed the door and ran off toward the argument. You couldn't help but wonder what it was about but were too distracted by the sight of a bed. It had been over ten years since you had been able to sleep in a bed. Feeling like a child again, you ran at the futon and leapt onto it. Giggling, you hugged the pillow to your chest and inhaled. It had a sweet floral scent, almost like fresh cut flowers. But it was hard for you to remember, it had been a lot of time since you had experienced many things.
Next chapter done. Hope you enjoyed, I'm having a lot of fun writing this already and have so many ideas. Thanks for reading.
