Opening your eyes, they were met with the sight of the ceiling above. There was nothing special about waking up here, nothing that stood out to you. Instead of seeing the beautiful sky of the day or night, the dull stone roof of your room was all you could see. You weren't sure why you felt the urge to find something else to look at, perhaps you thought something detailed would pull your mind away from that night's dream.
Heaving a deep sigh, you turned your head and took a moment to stare at the empty space beside you on the bed. For some reason, you had only taken one side of the bed even though the entirety of the bed for you to use. There was no one else who would lay beside you despite how much you wished to wake up and have Nagato be there.
After the night the two of you had confessed to each other, you became official. You had eyes only for each other, no one being able to separate the two of you.
Biting your lip harshly, you tried your best to rid of all of your negative thoughts. And luckily enough, there was a sound which drew your attention.
It was a knock at your door, that same door being opened a second later. Konan poked her head around it and smiled once you met her gaze.
"Breakfast is ready if you're hungry," she informed, watching as you lay on my side, keeping your eyes on her exclusively.
"Thanks," you grumbled, pushing yourself up into a sitting position. Running your fingers through your hair to tidy it, you realized that Konan hadn't left let. Returning your eyes to her, she jolted slightly under your gaze.
"Is there something else you need?" you asked, hoping that you hadn't come across as rude in your tone. You weren't feeling overly moody that morning, but your dream had stressed you out and trying to push it out of your mind took a lot of energy out of you.
Konan shook her head, smiling gently.
"No, I just zoned out for a moment. Don't mind me." You opened your mouth to ask if she was okay, but was cut off by the slamming of the door. Konan's behavior shocked you since she didn't typically act like that, it was as if she was on edge. Making the quick assumption that your return had shaken her up and brought back many unwanted memories, you pushed past the issue and decided to head to breakfast.
Getting off your bed, you were quick to change out of your sleepwear and put on your usual clothing, accompanied by your Akatsuki cloak. The cave-like base the Akatsuki was staying in was cold due to the fact that it was made of stone and partially under ground. The cloak was large and kept you warm despite the temperature of the air in the base.
Walking to your door, you left through it and made your way down the corridor. As you did this, you watched as someone walked ahead of you. It was a very large man and on the back of his head you could only see the black cloth of his hood. You assumed it was Kakuzu heading to breakfast. Hearing the sound of your footsteps, he glanced back at you. After taking in your appearance, he turned back around and continued towards the dining room, not caring that it was you.
Arriving at the dining hall, he opened the door and walked inside, leaving it open for you. Coming up to it, you entered and shut it behind you. Konan was sitting at the head of the table, quietly eating while someone started calling out to you.
"(Y/n)-chan, come sit by me!" Tobi cheered, patting the empty seat next to him. On his other side was Deidara, the blonde not looking happy that he had to be next to masked man-child. But you actually liked Tobi, his child-like attitude being one of the main reasons why the two of you got on well. You liked children.
