It hadn't been long since you had moved into Konohagakure but you were enjoying it so far. A lot of the adults were sceptical of you whilst the children enjoyed your company, urging you to play with them during your free time. They always loved watching you practice your ninjutsu and taijutsu, they found it really refreshing seeing new techniques they were unfamiliar with. As for the older ones, those around Naruto's age, they seemed to be very interested in your stories.
Right now you had actually put some time aside to talk with the blonde and his friends whilst you all ate dinner, answering all of the questions they had for you. It took a long time to get through the majority of your past, but you enjoyed it, this time reminding you of how you had told Hidan all of your stories. He wasn't the most considerate person, but you liked that he wanted to hear about you.
"So, you're a Jashinist?" Ino questioned, sending a sideways glance at Shikamaru. The boy with the spiked ponytail remained silent, acting as if he wasn't bothered by anything you had said. Wanting to reiterate, you lifted your wrist which had the Jashinist symbols tied to it.
"No, I was born into Jashinism but never followed their ways," you told her, feeling a little down after having her think you were still one of them. Even though your family were Jashinists, you knew that they weren't good people for what they had done. You cared for them dearly but never wanted to be seen in the same light as them.
"A-and Nagato w-was-" Hinata stuttered, catching your attention. Lifting your head, you meet her pale purple gaze, watching as she immediately turned her face to look away in embarrassment. You chuckled at the sight of her shy antics, knowing what she meant even though she never finished her sentence.
"Yeah, Nagato was my lover."
"When did you start dating?" Sakura spoke up, leaning forward as she waited for you to answer. You could see the boys waiting quietly for it as well, trying to look like they weren't bothered.
"Well, we only got together after the Akatsuki was first formed. But it didn't last long, I fell into that pit and hadn't him seen for ten years till I managed to get out. And even after we were reunited he was so obscessed with this whole... thing that it wasn't the same," you thought aloud, trying to hide how disappointed you were. You had finally been brought back together only for him to keep a distance and soon after disappear without a word and die.
"And what are you going to do now?" Sai asked, putting his paintbrush down after writing something into scroll.
"I'm just going to do what I can to support Nagato and Yahiko's dream, so I'll help this village in whatever way I can," you declared, everyone being able to see how serious you were about this. Naruto smiled widely after finishing his meal, standing from his seat and gesturing for you to do the same.
"Where are you two going?" Kiba asked, lifting his head from his plate, Akamaru barking as if to repeat his partner's question.
"To see Granny Tsunade, (Y/n) hasn't seen her yet," the Uzumaki informed his friends before bidding them goodbye. The blonde began walking away, having you hurry after him once you had said goodnight to everyone. Walking by his side, you glanced over at him as he walked with his hands resting on the back of his neck.
"Are you sure that it'll be alright for me to see her?" you asked, knowing that the older woman was still unconscious after the Pein incident and the destruction of the village. He nodded, a large smile plastered on his whiskered face.
"Of course, Shizune said you were allowed to come by today. I'm sure that Granny Tsunade really wants to see you too," he expressed, his energy soothing your nerves a little. You worried a lot for Tsunade but also anxious that she wouldn't accept you because of your connections to the Akatsuki. You were lucky that she wasn't awake to turn you away in this confusing time.
