You stood before the other Akatsuki members, Konan introducing you. Once they all knew your name, they all introduced themselves. They seemed nice enough, only one making a rude comment which you ignored. It was one of the younger members, the one with slicked back silver hair. During the introduction, you learnt that his name was Hidan. He gave off an aura which you didn't find too pleasant and it wasn't the sickening smirk he flashed at you. It was the familiar symbol he wore around his neck as a pendant.
"Thank you, I hope you accept my sister as one of us," Konan finished, bowing to the other members. A majority remained silent while a few muttered their response, not really caring. You bowed to them all, smiling down at the floor.
"I hope that we can get along," you said before raising your head. Konan seemed happy with this, approaching you to give your hand a squeeze.
"You're all free to go," she called out before pulling you along with her to her room. She opened the door and yanked you inside before closing it. Konan then lead you over to her bed, sitting down. You did the same, refusing to look her in the eyes, not wanting to see how she would die again.
"So..." she trailed off. Just by hearing her soft voice, you immediately knew why she had brought you here.
She wanted to talk about Yahiko.
You knew how it happened already but you wouldn't admit it. Konan, Yahiko and Nagato never found out about your ability to read people's deaths.
Many years ago
You looked up the woman who had brought you to your new home, forcing a smile.
"Thank you very much," you bowed, taking a step into the apartment they had organized for you. She chuckled, petting your head gently before she turned around to leave.
"Take care now, Sweetheart. I'll see you at the academy tomorrow," she called as she walked away. After being rescued by the Amegakure ninja and placed in hospital, you requested to be put in the academy to learn how to become a shinobi. It seemed to be your only choice at this point, it was either learn how to become a proper ninja or live in an orphanage. Personally, you hated the idea and after what you had done, you thought that this was the better option.
Where you had grown up, you had learnt how to fight and the basics of the different jutsu and chakra control. For your age, you exceptionally talented but you wouldn't be allowed to show all that, to blend in you'd have to pretend you weren't very good but had enough skill to pass. Over time you would be able to fully show your true skills.
You walked into the center of your new home, the apartment being 2 rooms. The first had a small kitchen on one side with a bed on the other, a table and a chair in its center. The second room was a small bathroom equipped with a sink, toilet and shower. It was the bare minimum but you liked, for the first time you had your own space, no longer needing to share with your siblings. You face fell at the memory, hating that it had come to mind. To distract yourself, you began looking through the cupboards, noticing the small amount of food they had left you. Not really having anything else to do, you lay back on your bed and heaved out a long breath.
"Who are you?" an unfamiliar voice called from beside your bed. In the shock of the moment, you fell off of the bed, hitting the ground rather harshly. Groaning, you sat up and rubbed your aching head. A boy with spiky orange hair and dark brown eyes stood before you, crouching down to meet your eyes.
"Are you the new person who moved in?" he asked. You lost your voice for a second, nodding in response. He laughed before taking a seat in front of you on the floor.
