Coming back to your senses, you used your free hand to wipe your face, feeling annoyed that you had given in to your emotions. Not knowing how else to get the kid's attention, you sighed and returned the hug, allowing him to comfort you for a moment before he pulled back.

"Why're you going around hugging strangers like that?" you asked, watching as he smiled, his hand moving to the back of his neck.

"Well, you looked lonely, you know," he replied, seeming happy with his actions. Not knowing what else say, you heaved a sigh and sat down on the ground. Patting the ground in front of you, the boy sat down.

"Is there any other reason? I mean you were trying to get me to stay even before that," you pointed out, making the blonde think.

"You're not going back to the Akatsuki, are you?" Hearing that made you laugh.

"Didn't you hear Konan, the Akatsuki it over now," you repeated, having no intention of being affiliated with what the Akatsuki had now become. The blonde nodded, looking serious.

"Then where were you going to go, do you have a home?" he asked, sounding curious. Thinking about it, you had no plan of where you were going, everyone you held close to you was gone with the exception of Konan and you knew she wanted to do things alone. You had no one to go back to, no place to call home. Even as a Jashinist you had no homeland and even though you had spent a long time in Amegakure, that place was not your home, there being no point in returning unless you had at least one of the three by your side. Coming to terms with your thoughts, you sighed, shaking your head.

"I have nowhere to return to," you answered honestly. The boy frowned, you being able to hear the crinkling of the paper bouquet he held securely in his arms.

"Then... come live in Konoha!" he announced, the sound of his declaration making you laugh. But despite how you smiled, your pain could still easily be seen in your expression.

"Kid, you don't need to bring someone like me back to the village with you. Just go back and forget about me, there's no point in wasting your time with someone like me," you dismissed, laying back in the grass with your hands resting beneath your head. Huffing at your actions, the boy got up and moved closer to you so you could see him.

"No, where else are you gonna go?" he argued. Looking up at him, you couldn't help but laugh a little more at his expression, his pout reminding you of how Yahiko got when he didn't get what he wanted.

"Doesn't matter, does it?"

"Yes it does and why do you keep laughing?" he questioned, his blue orbs not shifting from your calm figure. Letting out a long breath, you couldn't help but compare him to Yahiko once again. They were really similar, you could just tell he was determined and caring, looking out for you, someone he didn't know.

Someone who could potentially be his enemy.

"You just remind me of my little brother..." you trailed off. Opening your eyes, you looked up at the blonde boy, enjoying the look of annoyance on his face. Sitting up, you caught Naruto off guard by ruffling his hair.

"Why are you so adamant to get me to stay here?" you asked him, wanting to hear his genuine feelings.

"Well, we're sibling students, aren't we?" Hearing that confused you, wondering what he was referring to.

"What do you mean?" you questioned, waiting quietly for him to answer.

"I'm a student of Pervy sage just like you. I mean Nagato told me about you, Konan and Yahiko," he expressed, seeming deeply invested in the topic. You were surprised to hear this, laughing due to Naruto's very fitting nickname for the older man.

"So you're a student of Jiraiya too?" you thought aloud, thinking back to all the fun you had had while under Jiraiya's wing. Naruto nodded happily.

"That's why I think you should come back to the village with me. I mean, we're sibling students and Konoha is Pervy sage's home, I think he'd want you to come here if you had nowhere else to go," he expressed. After listening to what Naruto had to say, you couldn't help but smile.

"You think he'd want me to come here?" you added, wanting extra clarification. Naruto's smile seemed to widen.

"Of course and not just for his pervy reasons. I'll also be there so you won't be by yourself and I'll make sure no one talks bad about you. I'm sure Grandma Tsunade will be fine with it too," he enthused. Hearing him refer to Tsunade like that made you laugh, lightening the heavy weight on your heart.

"She must be an old lady now, I mean I haven't seen her in a long time," you reminisced, thinking back to your first and only encounter with her.

"So, will you come with me then?" Naruto asked, hopefully. You heaved a loud sigh, pushing yourself off the ground in order to stand. Naruto did the same, looking at you with determination-filled eyes.

"Fine, I'll come along." As soon as your words hit his ears, he leapt at you, hugging you once again. Not being used to the affection, your awkwardly returned it with one arm. He seemed excited that you were coming back with him, so much so that he completely forgot about introductions. Once the boy had released you, the pair of you began heading in the direction of the village.

"What's your name, kid?" you asked, taking in the scenery properly now that you weren't in a rush.

"It's Naruto Uzumaki! And I already know who you are, Nagato told me all about you!" he announced, sounding pleased with himself.

"Alright then, what's my name?"

"That's easy, it's (Y/n), right?"

"Yeah, you must have a pretty good memory."

"Of course I do, the future Hokage has to have a great memory!" he enthused. Hearing that made you laugh once again. You didn't regret your choice of coming here to Konoha and knew that if this boy, Naruto, was spared by Nagato then he was someone that you were willing to stick by.

Nagato may have been dead, but you were motivated in keeping his will alive.

Bruh, it has been so long since I've updated this story and I am so sorry if you've been waiting for updates. I'm trying to find the time, it's just a lot of work to get through and not a lot of time to do it. Also, I'm the queen of procrastination. Anyway, hope you enjoy the chapter. I'll be back and try writing once again as soon as I can :)
