Even though I was made Big Jess's second in command, I didn't stay with her and the rest of the girls. I had moved the few belongings I had out of the tent and into a little place with Brandon, much to Anthony's dismay. Because I had moved in with someone else, that left him alone, so he moved in with Tagen and Jess. They would be up half the night giggling, while he would groan and throw things at them to get them to shut up.

After the attack on the camp, we had to move everyone to a new, even more remote location in the desert. There were still people who felt more comfortable sleeping in groups in the tents, but now there were more protected 'homes' as Jinxx called them. We seemed to be in an abondoned factory of some sort...either there were multiple buildings or parts had been broken down to create these various buildings, we will never know. To get into one of the rooms, there was a small door or dust-covered window to climb through; some of the taller boys had to lay on their stomachs to get in to some of them. Of course, these crawl spaces helped conceal more of the Legion from the eyes of F.E.A.R.

Some of the 'room mates' around us were other couples, just a few friends, or even a few siblings sharing the small spaces. If you were ever awake in the middle of the night, sometimes you could hear the murmurs of sweet nothings from a few rooms over, or the quiet laughter of friends keeping each other up all night. One of the boys that lived in the room next to us could be heard snoring lightly if everyone around was silent. Nighttime in the Legion was a somewhat beautiful thing, though it was a frightening thing at the same time; nighttime was when the Shadows came out to play.

I had just crawled out of our room when someone bumped into me. "Oh, I'm sorry!" The girl that bumped into me said.

I looked up and saw that it was the girl that CC had pointed out to me, Christina. "Oh no, it's fine." I smiled. "My fault for not watching if anyone was coming."

"You're Jessie...well Little Jess, right?" She flipped her blonde hair to the side. The girl seemed nice enough, but had a bit of an attitude about her. Maybe she got it from her boyfriend...who knows.

I nodded and rubbed my arm awkwardly. "That's me." I shifted my weight from foot to foot, wanting nothing more than to continue on my way, since I was really no good at making friends by myself. I always rambled on about things no one really wanted to hear or seemed like didn't care about whatever the other person was talking about.

"CC and Jinxx have told me so much about you!" Christina grinned at me, her brown eyes glinting in the morning sun. "Ooh do you stay here with Brandon?" She nodded towards the small door to our space.

"Um, yeah." I stammered. Ughhhhhh just let me walk away! Things were starting to get really awakward and it was too early for that. A cranky Jess and very awkward conversations don't mix too well. Usually it ends up in me getting very pis-

"Chrissy," A male voice asked behind Christina. "Who's this chick?" Great. Riker's deep voice had pulled me out of my thoughts and was coming closer. He had refused to help move anything when we were packing up the camp to move. Fucking jerk.

"This is Jess." She wrapped her arm around his waist and looked up at him lovingly.

"Brandon's girl?" Riker raised a questioning eyebrow. His eyes raked up and down my body, analyzing all the little flaws on me this morning. I was getting very angry, very quickly-it didn't help when his eyes lingered far too long on my chest, bringing a smirk to his lips.

I rolled my eyes. "Yes, I'm his girlfriend." I hated when people made it sound like Brandon owned me. I was a human being just like him and everyone else in the world; I wasn't some prize to be won and kept on a shelf.I was a living, breathing person that had a life like the rest of the Legion. I had to bite my tongue to keep myself from saying something offensive.

"Good-he won't be going for my Chrissy anytime soon." The male kissed Christina forcefully on the lips, making her squeal.  I shook my head and made my way around their now make-out session. I could tell I wasn't going to like that man very much.

In the center of the abandoned buildings, were the main tents wherethe Wild Ones stayed. It was nothing like the church, which many of the soldiers missed terribly; some had even made a trek back to the old thing, only to find that it had been all but destroyed by F.E.A.R. Ashley's tent was off in a corner 'so no one could sneak up on him', more like so everyone around you could hear you fucking your girlfriend. I could tell he was still sleeping; it was too early for Ashley to be fully awake. I walked in, pulling the cloth away from one of his windows. Sunlight poured in and covered the Wild One in golden light. I must say, he looked good.

"PURDY! WAKE UP YOU LAZY ASS!" I shouted in his ear. I jumped back with a giant grin plastered on my face as Ash sat straight up, his hair sticking out in tufts around his head. I could tell he wasn't wearing anything under his sheets-his torso was completely bare, something that was common for him. Though when he shifted, one of his legs had fallen out of his bed, revealing that he didn't have any kind of pants on. Lovely.

I threw a pile of clothes at him while mockingly covering my eyes. "Put some clothes on man!" I laughed. I was used to seeing a half-naked Ashley running around the camp-everyone was. It was one of the somewhat normal things around here. After a minute of rummaging around, Ashley turned me around. "Oh good, I thought I was gonna go blind." We laughed together at the memory of the first time we have ever really met each other.

"So, you've come per Jake's request, I assume?" He asked me as he smoothed down hair hair.

"Where are we starting next?" He knew exactly what I meant. Ashley was the one that planned the Uprisings in the cities. Usually, they were small disturbances so that F.E.A.R wasn't completely invloved, but they were prominant enough to let them know that we were here and we weren't going to give up our fighting anytime soon.

Ashley flattened out a map on a table near his bed. "We're going to travel a few days out here," He pointed to a red circle on the map. "Once inside, we wait until night fall." I could tell this was going to be one of the bigger Uprisings that happened every now and then. "Then we open the gates and let most of the Legion in." He started to go on about the other labeled dots and what would happen at each one until I interrupted him by thinking out loud.

I had my index finger over a cluster of little red dots near where the pervious location of the camp was. "Ashley, what are those?"

His face softened, a somber look clouded his eyes. "Oh," He too traced his fingers over the little dots, our fingers knocking into one another. "That's our um...'graveyard', I guess."

I pulled my hand away and let it fall to my side. I should've known...that's where Juliet was buried, along with all the other soldiers that had ever lost their lives in battle or while serving the Legion. It must hurt all of them so badly to even think of that place.

Ash shook his head, as if it would completely erase the memory of the soldiers that had died fighting for what was right. "This is where we'll head after that." The name next to the purple dot seemed familiar, though I couldn't recall where I had seen or heard it before.

"Will that be the site of the big Uprising?" I raised an eyebrow. He had something great planned for that battle; he said it would be the one to bring down F.E.A.R for good.

He nodded. "Right you are, my dear." He grinned and patted my head. "Now, let's talk weapons..."
