The steady pounding of my head was what woke me up. There was little light behind my lids, leaving me wondering where exactly I was. The last thing I remembered was rushing back into the battle with Andy. I goaned as the pounding in my head got a bit worse and heard the quick rustle of movement towards me. I opened my eyes to see a pair of excited blue orbs peering down at me.

"What are you lookin' at?" I grinned despite the pain in my skull and rubbed my eyes, pushing Anthony out of my face. When I lowered my hands, I looked around the room; we were back at what looked to be the girls' tent. I'm surprised that he's even in here.

Anthony laughed. "I've been waiting for you to wake up!" He nuzzled the side of my face gently and hugged my shoulders. I pushed him away and started to sit up, only to be met with excruciating pain in my right side. Anthony laid me back down carefully as I tried not to scream.

"What the hell did that thing do to me?!" I bit my lip so hard that it came close to bleeding.

"The Shadow hit you so hard that it not only broke the skin, but broke two of your ribs." Said a voice at the end of the bunk. I looked over to see Brandon sitting with his back to me, his head turned slightly so that I could hear him. The look he had on his face seemed protective when our eyes connected, but annoyed when he looked at Anthony. "You've been out for a few days...thankfully your wound wasn't too deep and seems to be healing just fine."

I nodded to myself before looking more closely at the two boys. "Are you guys okay?" I looked over Anthony first, seeing no prominant gashes, aside from a few small scratches here and there. Brandon, on the other hand, had a bandage covering the entire bottom half of his left arm.

"Anthony!" Jinxx appeared near the entrance of the tent. He noticed that I was awake and watching him, which lead him to come over and pat my head. "Good to see you're awake."  He turned to Anthony. "I need your help for a few minutes. The weapons tent got torn down and needs to be put up." Anthony nodded and stood to follow him, kissing my forehead before he walked out.

Brandon moved towards me as soon as he was out of sight. "I'm sorry that you're hurt," He hesitantly took my hand and squeezed it lightly.

"It's okay. It's not your fault." I gave him a small smile, hoping he wouldn't look as guilty for my stupid actions, "I should been more careful of what was around me."

"I promised Andy that I would keep you safe.." He said softly.

        "Andy?"

He looked up at me then, his hair falling over his left eye. "Yeah, Andy...he," Brandon sighed. "He needs you for something. I have no idea what though." It was clear he wasn't going to say anything further on the topic.

I looked down at his bandaged arm and poked it carefully. "What happened?" He watched as I poked closer to the inside of his arm before training his eyes on my face.

"I went to help Ashley, but..." Brandon trailed off looking at a spot next to my head.

My eyes widened in horror. "Ash is dead, is he?"  I didn't know what would happen if the Wild One had died. Granted, I didn't know him all that well, the man was starting to grow on me.

Brandon looked back at me ubruptly. "Oh no no no, don't worry; he's fine!" He smiled reassuringly. "I went to help, but a Shadow sliced my arm open." He unwrapped the bandage half way, stopping to say: "You don't have a problem with blood or anything...right?" Seeing that I clarely didn't care, he revealed the long gash that was slightly blackened around the edges.
