I Need A Hero Vol. 4 {Peter Quill}

Gwen stood in a dark room. She looked around her but couldn't see anything. That is until the familiar figure came into view. It was her husband.

"Peter" Gwen let out as a breath. She couldn't believe it. He was here. Standing right in front of her. Peter's eyes met hers, and he held out his hand.

"Gwen, take my hand" She reached out her hand to take his. Only she couldn't. Her hand went through his as soon as she touched him. His hand was turning to dust.

"Peter" Gwen cried, tears escaping her eyes. He was turning to dust and she couldn't do anything to stop it. "Please don't leave me, Peter! I need you!"

"I'm sorry" Was the last thing Peter said before he completely disappeared. Gwen fell to her knees, taking the dust into her hands and let it fall through her fingers.

"Please, come back to me" She heard footsteps approaching. Gwen looked up and saw the one that took her husband away from her in the first place. Thanos.

She got to her feet, feeling the energy coursing through her veins. Her body began to glow and her eyes became completely purple.

"You took my husband, my family, and my friends away from me!" Gwen's voice became deep and almost demonic sounding. She began forming a bolt of purple energy around her hand. Thanos started laughing at her.

That is until she charged at him. Her anger made her strong enough to grab his neck and bring him down to the ground. "You will pay for what you've done to me and my family!"

Gwen was about ready to blast Thanos right through the chest when he spoke. "Gwen!" It didn't sound like Thanos' voice.

"Gwen! Wake up!" Thor said, trying to free himself from her grasp. Gwen had her grip around his neck with one hand while the other was ready to shoot at him.

"Mom, what are you doing!?" Meredith had come in just in time. She was still in her Celeste form and hadn't changed back since she was nearly kidnapped. She could hear Thor screaming at her to wake up so she came to see what was wrong. "Mom, don't hurt him! He's not Thanos!"

Gwen's eyes shot open and she was horrified about the position she was in. She quickly let go of Thor, and the energy around her hand disappeared. Tears began running down her cheeks.

"Oh my God, Thor, I'm so sorry" Gwen cried. Thor immediately wrapped his arms around her, and held her close to him.

"I don't blame you, Gwen. You had a nightmare" he said. Meredith sat beside her mother, and began rubbing her back.

"Was it another nightmare?" she inquired.

"It's the same one I've been having since the snap. I try to grab Peter's hand but he turns to dust. Thanos appears and begins laughing in my face" Meredith wiped her mother's tears off of her face. Gwen looked up at her with sorrowful eyes. "Let's face it. I'm never getting my Peter back"

"Don't say that, mom. We'll get dad back, and the others" That was the last thing Meredith said before she left the room, leaving Gwen and Thor on their own.

"Meredith is right, Gwen. We will find a way. Don't give up hope" Thor assured her. He tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. She looked up at him, and gave him a small smile. Thor pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. "I don't expect you to say it back, but I love you"

"I know you do" She could feel the guilt pooling in her stomach. Sure, she had strong feelings for Thor, but he wasn't Peter. No one could replace Peter. "I'm sorry for not saying it back"

"You have no need to apologize. Now, why don't you try getting some sleep? I can see that you're exhausted" Gwen nodded and let her head hit her pillow. She closed her eyes and drifted off back to sleep.

Meredith had decided to go see Helena, who had settled herself in the Benatar. Helena was sitting in the captain's chair, staring out into the bright, purple, starry sky. "Auntie Helena?"

Helena's attention turned to her niece. "Hello Meredith. Is Gwen okay?" Meredith nodded, sitting in the seat beside Helena.

"She's fine. She keeps having nightmares about my father though. She really misses him, Auntie Helena, and I don't know what to do for her" Helena reached over and took her nieces hand in her own.

"The only thing that we can do for now, is hold out hope that we can find a way to reverse the snap" Helena noticed the troubled look on Meredith's face. "There's something else bothering you, isn't there?"

"Yeah. If I tell you, you have to promise not to tell mom"

"Okay, I promise"

Meredith let out a shaky sigh before she proceeded to tell Helena what was bothering her. "I've been trying to change back to my regular self, my four year old self, but the thing is, I can't. No matter how hard I try, I just can't" To illustrate her point, Meredith tried changing back into her young self. However, she only managed to change half of her face, before it changed back to normal. "See? I can't do it. The weird thing is, I don't feel like I'm four. I feel like I'm twenty four"

"Well, I know we as Kosmonians age differently than most people. We tend to live longer but not age faster. Do Celestials age like regular people do?"

"I mean, I don't know. I don't know much about my Celestial blood, or my powers. I'm still figuring out how to use them under calm circumstances. Those are questions I'd have to ask dad but he's not here" A single tear fell down Meredith's cheek. "I miss him Auntie Helena. I want him back. I want my whole family back"

"I know you do. Trust me, I do as well" Helena could hear that she was getting a video call. She looked at the monitor and noticed the name on the screen.

Natasha Romanoff

Natasha Romanoff as well as the other Avengers had helped save Gwen and Meredith when three of Thanos' lackeys, Phantom, Brenna, and Zane, had kidnapped Gwen and Meredith. Phantom nearly killed Gwen, and Meredith was nearly taken to Thanos. Luckily the Guardians and the Avengers put a stop to that.

Helena touched the accept call button and Natasha's face appeared on the screen. "Hello Natasha. Is everything okay? We haven't heard from any of you in two weeks"

"Where's Gwen? Is she okay?" Natasha asked with concern.

"She's fine, just exhausted. She's been having nightmares for the past two weeks" Helena explained. "Did something happen? I'm assuming there's a reason you called"

"We need you guys to come to Earth as soon as you can"

"Why? What's going on?"

"It'll be easier to explain in person. Here's where we want you to come" Some coordinates appeared on the screen. "This is our headquarters. Please, get here as soon as you can"

"Alright, Nat, I'll let the others know" Helena said. She saw Natasha nod before the call ended. Helena looked toward her niece, who had a very concerned and fearful expression on her face. "Meredith, gather the other Guardians. It's time to pay a visit to Earth"

Welcome to book four! To start off, there will be major changes from the movie so I can make the story work. Secondly, this will start off with Gwen x Thor, but I promise, this is still a Peter Quill story, and that Gwen and Peter will be together again.
