"What are you going to get to eat?" Anna asked Klaus later on that day.

"I'm not hungry."

"You know, I'm not going to judge you if that's what you're worried about." Anna reassured him.

They were currently at a small diner. Klaus would have rather gone home, but Anna ended up persuading him into going with her.

"That's not what I'm worried about." He said looking around the restaurant. Anna's hand reached over, covering his hand with her own. He pulled it away quickly as if she burned him, causing her to over think. Did he not like her? Did he find her disgusting? Did he think she was too fat?

Before her thoughts could completely consume her, she felt his hand wrap around hers completely.

"I like holding hands." He admitted.

Anna smiled and got lost in his eyes. Maybe she was falling for him even though she only knew him for a month. She just hoped that it wouldn't ruin their friendship.

"What can I get you?" a waitress asked. Anna looked over at her and then at Klaus when his eyes widened at the sight of her.

"Oh no." he whispered at the same time the waitress shrieked.

"Klaus!" she said.

"Hi." He said hoping she'd go away.

"How have you been?" she asked, even though it was clear he didn't want to speak to her.

Anna looked at Klaus who was already looking at her.

"We'd like to order if that's okay with you." Anna said to the waitress. The waitress finally took the chance to look at Anna and rolled her eyes.

"Sure you do."

"Me and my lovely girlfriend here would like an order of cheese fries along with a chocolate shake." Klaus said.

The waitress eyes looked down at their interlocked hands. Anna had forgot that they were holding hands. She moved to take hers away, but Klaus hand held hers tighter as if begging her to not let go.

"I see." The waitress said, her shoulders falling. Anna immediately started to feel bad, but Klaus didn't let her. The waitress walked away, hopefully with their order.

"She cheated on me." Klaus admitted.

"Oh." Anna said squeezing his hand. "I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault." He told her. "What makes it worse was that it was with my brother."

Anna's eyes left his and roamed around to find the girl who broke her dear friend's heart. Little did she know, she was the reason why Klaus didn't like to eat. He figured that maybe if he was skinnier, he would be better looking and she wouldn't have cheated on him.

A couple minutes later, their fries and shake was placed in front of them. The waitress scurried off after she gave them their food and Anna was grateful because she knew that if she stayed around, she was going to have a few things to say to her. She also didn't want to scare Klaus off just yet. She had a habit of scaring boys off.

"Can I ask why you ordered this?" Anna asked him, taking a straw to put in the shake so she could taste the sweetness.

"I listen to you, you know?" He told her. "I remember in one of our conversations that we had on the phone you told me how much you love eating cheese fries with a chocolate shake."

"Oh." Anna blushed. She didn't think that he actually listened to her. No one else ever did.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Klaus said. "Happy birthday Anna."
