Klaus found himself lying on his back in the bedroom that his father tried decorating to Klaus's liking, but he ended up getting it all wrong. Klaus didn't like dark rooms, he'd rather have the room bright at all times. Dark rooms bring dark thoughts.

This wasn't his home. Nothing felt like home to him anymore, except Anna. Anna was home to him.

He debated whether or not he actually wanted to call her. He knew that she was waiting for him because she sent him at text two hours ago saying so.

He ran his hands through his hair for the hundredth time since he got here. He was frustrated about a lot of things. One of them being how his brother had the best life here while he was living at home with his single mom who struggled to pay the bills most of the time.

The other was that he knew Anna was hurt. She had every right to be.

Klaus ended up snatching the phone off of his beside table and called Anna, knowing that she was going to be even more mad if he didn't.

"Anna-" Klaus said into the phone almost breathlessly.

"Our love story is like the one in The Fault in our Stars," Anna laughed, "except apart from me being fat, I'm completely healthy and you're the one dying."

"I'm sorry it took me so long to call you," Klaus told her, "I know you're angry and you have every right to be."

"I'm not angry."

"You're not?"

"I'm livid." Oh boy. "You don't love me."

"That's not true-" Klaus started, but Anna didn't let him finish.

"You don't, because if you did, I wouldn't have found out that you were dying from you mom. I should've found that out from you."

"I know and I'm so sorry Anna."

"Are you?"

"I am, I swear to you I was going to tell you. I was just scared."

"Of what?"

"Of losing you."

"Don't you see that that's what I'm scared of?" Anna screamed. "I just found out that the guy that I'm in love with isn't going to be able to spend the rest of his life with me!"

"Baby-"

"Don't baby me." Anna said wiping the tears out of her eyes. "I don't think that we should be together anymore."

"Anna, don't do this! I love you!" Klaus cried. "I'll do whatever you want me to do! Just please don't leave me, not when I need you most!"

"You don't need me," Anna stated. "If you loved me, you would have been honest with me. I can't trust you Klaus, not when you would rather keep something like this from me than let me know."

"I know that!" Klaus said. "But when I found out, I was so far in love with you that I didn't want to take the chance of losing you."

"I love you Klaus and if you were honest with me from the start, I wouldn't have left you." Anna said before hanging up.

Klaus screamed for the second time that day, throwing his phone and whatever he could grab at the wall. His dad rushed in his room and didn't dare stop Klaus's tantrum. He had a feeling that he needed to let this out.
