"Tignan mo nga naman si Kiefer, parang siya pa ang anak." Nilingon ko ang Ate ko, we're watching how my Bhie mingles with my family. Mom decided to held a family lunch out at the resort and Dad wanted Kiefer to come tuwang tuwa pa si Manong when he found out it was my Dad who invited him.
"Lakas niyan kanila Ma eh." I tried to sound annoyed but inside I'm so proud.
"He is indeed adorable, he has this charm na mahirap tanggihan." Tumayo si Ate at kinuha sakin si Raven.
"Tignan mo ikaw, smitten." Her last words and I know I'm flushed. I was dumbfounded and Ate won't stop laughing about it.
"Raven, Ate Mika is so in love." She said teasing the life outta me.
"Ate!!" I tried to contain my kilig.
Kiefer
Never should I look worried especially if she's around. I keep on reminding that to myself, ayokong magaalala siya pero kabado talaga ako whenever I am facing her Dad kahit nga Kuya niya mejo dinadaga na ko eh.
When she shyly asked me about this lunch out, I almost did my happy dance syempre minsan lang ako ayain nito eh and when I found out it was actually his Dad who asked for me to come parang bigla gusto kong mamutla.
"Saya mo ah!" She elbowed me, I want to play with her so I acted hurt.
"Oa mo!" Nag-give up din ako agad baka topakin mayari pa ko.
"Nabusog ka?"
"Sobra po. I'm so bloated!"
We were sitting beside each other, naguusap lang about random things with her family when the "pda" side of her showed up, Mika took my hand and intertwined with hers. I smiled but did not bother to look her way. Sigurado maiilang to infront of her family if I tease her about it kaya mamaya na lang.
"Graduating ka din di ba Kiefer?" Tito asked, tumango ako.
"Yes po, this October."
"Hindi March?" That's her Ate Aereen.
"Change of school calendar po kaya mejo nagadjust."
Mika
"We're such a clingy couple." It is supposed to be a thought to myself but I said it out loud. We're walking in the garden of our resort, how cheezum right?
He was about to say something but we were interrupted by a cutiepatotie.
"Hi there little guy." Raven ran into Kiefer and hugged him on the legs. He's burying his face on Kief's legs.
We sat down and lowered ourself to meet the little man's gaze.
"Baby dito ka sakin." I said to Raven but he opted go with Kiefer. Binuhat niya ito at tuwang tuwa si Raven.
"Why do you like Kiefer so much baby? Anong pinakain sayo nito?" Kiefer was laughing as I baby talk to the legit baby.
"Kasi, I'm kuya pogi di ba?" He extended his mouth pa, kainis. Raven nodded happily, patay tayo jan.
"Imposible!" Nilaro laro pa namin si Raven maya maya tinawag na siya ng Ate ko kaya nagpababa na kay Kiefer.
"Sleep ka na baby?" Tumango si Raven at kiniss namin parehas ni Kiefer sa magkabilang cheeks.
"Love you baby!" Pahabol ko pa kay Raven, di pa man makakabawi si Kiefer eh umarangkada nanaman. He kissed me on the cheek.
"Love you too."
"Feeler ng malala." Sabi ko while shaking my head. Tsk tsk.
Kiefer
Day well spent to promise, I didn't expect today will end up like this. Sobrang warm lang talaga ng family ni Mika, just like mine relax lang, laid back.
Kwentuhan, tawanan, laro with the kids, eat, that's how we killed the time.
"What's your plan after college?" I was left in the cottage with his older brother Perry. Dinala na kasi nila yung mga bata sa kwarto dahil nakatulog na.
"Basketball pa rin, I already tried my luck sa national team just waiting for the outcome."
"Sa kapatid ko?" I knew he's asking about Mika, and our plans.
"We haven't talked about anything, but I'm pretty sure she's it." We both aren't looking at each other. Hindi ko alam kung anong naging reaksyon niya sa sinabi ko.
"I can't believe my sister has a steady boyfriend. Hanggang ngayon feeling ko bata pa siya, she's our baby." This time I look his way. I gotta agree, I saw how caring they are when it's Mika. Oo, there's Mikole and Miko but it's just different.
"Baby ko din naman siya." We both chuckled.
"Buti napagtiisan mo tantrums nun?"
"I gotta say it wasn't easy but all good things comes to those who wait, she'll always be worth it."
"Naks, tama nga si Mika. Cheesy ka." We gave out a hearty laugh, it's my first time talking alone with his brother di naman pala ganun ka-aloof.
"Only for her."
"Dapat lang." He said smiling but with a warning.
"You know when we're kids she often get bullied. Kaya siguro she made this front na she's tough and boyish and used her height to intimidate people. Pero once you get to know her and gain her trust you'll see how kid at heart she is. Mika is very soft." I can't help but agree, the more times I spend with her the more chances I get to know her more.
"Mika is easy to please. " I added.
"Mejo mababaw nga ang isang yun." Biro ni Perry.
"Kaya the first time I heard you two are dating ready na ko na you won't make it." Napataas ang kilay ko dun.
"She's my breath of fresh air."
"Exactly why I didn't like you for her." I stare at him quizzically.
"To everyone she is a fresh air, masayahin kasi. Maloko. Kaya noon I thought you just wanted something new and thrilling with your life. Hindi naman makakailan na what you two have right now was something impossible back then."
"Akala naming lahat gusto mo lang ng bago and you saw Mika. I remembered reminding her to not be so serious about you, sorry bro."
"Okay lang, past tense naman na di ba? I mean, I know hindi pa hinog yung relationship namin pero alam kong I did everything I can to prove her and I hope pati sa inyo that I am friggin' serious about her. Mahal ko siya."
"Yeah, you kinda proved us wrong. Basta lang naman wag naming makita at malamang sinaktan mo siya, good shot ka samin eh. Pero once na iyan, nasaktan mo." He gave me this Kuya look, a warning to never ever break Mika's heart, as if I can.
"Pain is inevitable naman, hindi ko always mapangako na hindi ko siya mapaiyak or masaktan. Kung mangyari yun it was not my intention. Basta ang maipapangako ko, if ever she cries I'll always be with her."
Perry was silent, I hope because he is satisfied with my answers.
"Seryoso kayo jan ah?" And there's my fresh air.
"Paano bro, alis na ko. Tandaan mo kapag si Mika sumakit ang tiyan nauutot siya." Perry joked and we both laughed out loud.
"Leche ka Kuya!!" Nakahabol pa ng hampas si Mika sa braso ng kuya niya, perks of having long arms.
"What did you guys talked about?" I motioned her to sit on my lap and she did. I hugged her and settled my face on her back.
"Huy ansabe ni Kuya bhie?" I felt her twist her waist to look at me, I raised my gaze and found her uber eager face.
"Mga deep dark childhood secrets mo. Grabe ka babe." Halatang nataranta si Mika when she heard me, she's now sitting sideways, nahirapan na magtwist ng katawan.
"Seryoso?" She held my face with both her hands. My hands encircled around her.
"Oo nga."
"Waaah! I'm gonna kill him talaga!"
