Chapter Twenty-One

(Vinny's POV ; 4 hours later)

It was edging 11:30, almost 2012! Eeep.  Me and Gab were sitting outside on the balcony, creeping on Krissy and Mikey who were out by the pool. They had no idea we were up here watching them, and they were being so cute. "Okay, so, ten bucks he kisses her before the clock strikes twelve." Gab said as we watched them. "You're on." We shook on it, and then Gab laughed. Oh my God, she is perfect. The way the moonlight was shining on her face... My goodness my heart can't take this. "Gab..." I said, taking her hand in mine. "Yeah Vin?" She laughed, turning her body towards mine. "Do you like me?" I asked, Oh my God, real smooth Castronovo. What are we in, the third grade? "Of course I do Vinny..." She laughed, making my stomach turn. "No, I mean, like, do you like, like me..." I asked, my face probably turning fifty different shades of red. Just as she opened her mouth to speak, I noticed Mikey moving in for a kiss. We both turned towards them, and watched as their lips connected. "OH MY GOD." Gab screamed, then cursed to herself, and covered her mouth. They looked up at us, and laughed, and walked behind the shed. "Damn't." Gab crossed her arms over her chest. "I have sucha big mouth..." "And that's why I love you..." I couldn't help it, I laughed. "Okay, let's um, go back down to the party. The ball is gonna drop soon..." Gab stood up, and walked through my bedroom, and out the door, and into the hallway. I sighed, so I guess I'm not going to get her answer anytime soon. I grabbed my phone, and walked back down to the basement where everyone else was. Gab was sitting awkwardly on the couch with Mikey and Krissy, who were all lovey dovey, which actually really pissed me off. Why can't it be that easy for me and Gab? Oh yeah because I was a douchebag. I sighed, and sat in the recliner next to the couch. Suddenly the countdown for the ball started. "10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2....1.... HAPPY NEW YEAR'S!" Everyone was hugging everyone, and when I finally reached Gab, I did the unthinkable. I held her by the waist, and connected our lips. I smiled into the kiss. Happy New Year's to me....
