Chapter Forty-Three

(Vinny's POV)

I walked Gab to her first class, and we stood at the door. "Are you going to be okay?" I asked. "Yes Vin. I'll be fine." Gab laughed, rolling her eyes. "Are you sure? Remember, if you need anything, I'm three classrooms down..." I said, about to start babbling, but Gab laughed. "Yes, okay Vinny. I'll be fine. Thank you again though... I'm sorry I'm sucha handful..." "Hey, it's my job to take care of you." I smiled. "Awe. Okay. I guess I'll go in now so you won't be late..." Gab laughed. "Okay.. Have a good day..." I said, and began to walk away. "Oh, and Vinny?" Gab stopped me. "Yeah babe?" I asked. She ran up to me, and pressed her lips to mine. "I love you." And with that, she blushed, and ran into her classroom. I stood there, mesmerized by what just happened.... SHE JUST KISSED ME. Oh my God. OH MY GOD. A huge smile plastered itself on my face as I walked to my next class. Suddenly, the bell rang, signaling I was going to be late... Oh well. I took my good old time walking, because frankly right now I was in such a good mood. Gabrielle, the love of my life, just KISSED me. Nothing could bring me down. "Hey little douchebag..." Marko's voice rang from behind me, causing me to turn around. As I did, a fist collided with my face... Ouch. I turned my head, and saw Marko cracking up with a group of his football friends. "What the fuck do you guys want?" I asked. "You... Dead." The tallest one laughed. I rolled my eyes.... And I'M the douchebag? I decided to be the bigger person, and started to walk away, but the tall one pulled me back, almost causing me to collide with the floor. "Where do you think you're going?" He laughed, and they all began to crowd me into a corner. "Seriously, get over yourselves, I'm not scared of any of you..." I lied. Oh puhlease Vinny, you're scared shitless right now. "Yeah, sure..." The boy I knew as Brandon laughed. "Listen. Can you guys get a life and stop picking on people who don't deserve it?" I asked. "But you DO deserve it! You stole my girlfriend from me you little bitch." Marko spat. I rolled my eyes. "Marko, she never really felt anything for you, compared to what she feels to me, at least. She used you, to get over ME." I said. Marko suddenly got in my face, and just as he was about to punch, I heard her voice. "HEY! Leave him the fuck alone!" Gab screamed, breaking up the crowd. The crowd seperated, and then I saw her. She pushed through the boys, pushing Marko away from me, and reaching me. "Baby, I'm sorry..." Gab said, and her eyes widened. "Ouch... You have a huge bruise on your chin..." Her figers brushed over it, and I winced. Damn, that hurt. "I'm sorry..." Her lips touched my jaw, where the bruise was located, and I saw Marko's eyes light up with anger. She took my hand in hers, and faced the boys. "What, harassing me wasn't enough for you guys? Now you have to go bug the one person who has always been there for me?" They all just stood there, their eyes not meeting hers. "I'm so dissapointed in ALL of you. You claim to want the best for me, and then you go sending me texts like those? And now you're beating up on my friends? Seriously, I will never feel for Marko the way I feel for Vinny. GET OVER IT and GROW THE FUCK UP. And seriously, if I find out any of you have been bugging Vinny after this, you can be sure you'll be getting a call from the police." Gab faced me again, and sighed. "I'm sorry... I've got to get back to class, okay? Go to the bathroom, and call Al. Ask her to come pick you up. I'll be over after school. I love you." She stood on her tippy toes, and placed her lips over mine again. I smiled, and kissed her back. "Okay. I'm sorry you have to have seen me like this Gab..." I sighed. She rolled her eyes, and smiled. "Stop apologizing Vinny. I'm gonna go now, be careful baby." She hugged me, and pushed the boys in the directions to their classes as she walked to hers. Marko faced me. "This isn't over." and then he walked away. I rolled my eyes, and dialed Al's number in my phone as I walked to the bathroom. I swear, what would I do without Gab...
