"Mama..." Jyn whispered, tugging her hand.
"We must keep going, Jyn."
Jyn nodded obediently, following her mother around scattered rocks and through the moist soil. Her wrist was sore from her mother's tight grip.
Suddenly, they stopped. Her mother quickly set down the bundle of clothes in the grass. Jyn trembled from the cold as she felt her mother's hands on her shoulders.
"You know where to go, Jyn. Wait for me there."
Jyn met her mother's gaze. "Do you understand? Don't come out for anyone but me."Her mother reached up to her neck and pulled off her necklace, gently placing it over Jyn's head.
"Trust the Force."
"Mama..."
"I'll be right behind you. Now go."
Jyn felt her mother's arms around her, enfolding her in warmth and in love.
Jyn wanted to stay in her mother's arms forever, but instead, found herself being turned around and pushed away.
Jyn stumbled forward, never looking back.
