I was having a great day on the slopes with my friends, but somehow I lost all of them. I reached the bottom of the slope and none of them were anywhere to be found. I spend like ten minutes searching for them before I give up.
I get on the chairlift alone. It starts taking off when some guy rushes up and takes the seat next to me. He barely made the lift
"Woah that was a close one." The guy next to me says as he adjusts in his seat. I nod politely. "I'm Seb."
"I'm y/n." I reply. I'm not really into small talk. It's not my thing and I avoid it at all costs, but this guy won't let up.
"It's perfect boarding conditions today." Seb says cheerfully.
"Yupp." I say as I look in the opposite direction of Seb.
"So are you out here snowboarding alone?" Seb asks as an attempt to make conversation. I finally turn my attention towards him since apparently there's no way of getting out of this small talk.
He's really cute. Like really, really cute. I was not expecting this.
"Nope. My friends are around here somewhere, but I lost track of them. What about you?" I ask, as I'm suddenly much more interested in talking to him.
"I'm riding solo today. If you can't find your friends, you can hang with me...if you want. I don't want to force you or anything." Seb suggests. I try to hide the little smirk on my face. It's not everyday that you meet a cute boy on the slopes.
"Thanks. I'd like that." I reply.
"I was actually getting pretty bored of snowboarding alone. It's always more fun with a friend." Seb adds with a smile. I can't tell if he's flirting with me or not, but I really hope he is.
As we reach the end of the chairlift, I see all my friends waiting for me. Oh no. I really wanted to hangout with Seb.
"Y/N!" My friends yells.
"I take it those are you friends." Seb says as the smile on his face begins to fade.
"Yeah..." I say slowly. I'm trying to think of an excuse to bail on my friends so I can spend more time with Seb. As soon as we get off the chairlift Seb takes off.
"See you later, y/n!" Seb shouts as he makes his way towards one of the slopes.
"Ohh who was that? He's cute!" One of my friends says.
"That's Seb and he's incredibly sweet." I tell her. "He offered for me to ride with him if I couldn't find you guys."
"What are you waiting for? Go after him, girl." My friend tells me. I don't argue or waste anytime. I turn and head in the direction Seb went. I go way too fast to catch up with him. I nearly tackle him as I approach him in the middle of the slope.
"Hey!" Seb says excitedly. We stop and stand in the middle of the hill. "What happened to your friends?"
"I decided that I'd rather ride with my new friend...if that's okay..." I say nervously. Maybe Seb was just being polite earlier and doesn't really want to snowboard together. Seb's toothy smile tells me it's okay.
"Absolutely. I've gotta admit that I was kinda bummed when I saw your friends waiting for you up there." Seb tells me.
"Really?" I question. I'm so happy to hear this.
"Yeah. I want to spend more time with you. I hope that's not too weird to say." Seb says as he begins to blush.
"That's not weird at all. I want to spend more time with you too." I admit. I just met him, but I already like him. There's just something about him.
"Cool! I hope this also isn't too weird, but would you maybe want to go to dinner with me tonight? Like on a date?" Seb asks as his cheeks somehow manage to get even redder.
"I'd love to." I reply. This day keeps getting better and better.
