Okay you're coverboy pretty
Stamped with a beauty mark
But it's such a pity a boy so pretty
With an ugly heart"Y/n" My friend says as she nudges her elbow into my side. "Y/n look!"
"What?" I ask. Some of my friends start giggling. "What?"
"Max Parrot has been staring at you for like ten minutes. I think he likes you." My friend Leann says as she keeps looking over her shoulder at Max.
"I don't care." I tell my friends as I go back to ignoring everyone. The truth is that I really don't care if Max Parrot is staring over here. He's a pro snowboarder playboy. He comes here ever couple months and every time he hooks up with a different girl. It seems like every girl here waits in line for their turn to be Max's next hook up, but I'm not into that. Sure, he's hot...like really hot but I can't get over his cocky attitude.
"Well, he's coming over here so...." Leann says as she attempts to fix her hair and look pretty.
"Hey, girls." Max says to my friends. They all giggle. I keep my eyes glued to my phone. "What's your name?"
"He's talking to you." Leann whispers as she nudges me again.
"Oh." I say as I finally look up from my phone. "I'm y/n. We've actually met a few times."
"We have? I feel like I would've remembered a face like yours." Max says with a smirk. He looks really pleased with himself for that line. I laugh at him.
"You know what? I've gotta go actually." I lie. I have nowhere to be, but he's annoying. I'd rather he talk up my friends than me. They at least want his attention.
"I'm actually heading that way so I'll follow you, y/n." Max says as I begin to walk away. I'm pretty sure he's lying, but I let him walk with me. I try ignoring him the best I can. "You don't talk much, do you?"
"I talk a lot actually. I just don't have anything to say at the moment." I reply as Max follows me down the hall.
"Wow. You don't like me, do you?" Max asks. I shrug my shoulders. "Why don't you like me?"
I stop walking and look at him.
"I'm not in the mood for this. Please go find some other girl to annoy." I say to Max. He smirks.
"I like you." Max says to me. He moves closer to me and I step away from instantly.
"Ew. Just stop." I tell him. He backs off, but looks surprised by my actions.
"I'll go away if you tell me why you don't like me." He says.
"You really want to know? Okay. You're some good-looking asshole who can get any girl he wants because he has a few sponsors and nice abs. I'm not into guys like you. You hook up with any and every girl you can and I have no desire to be your next conquest. So please just go away." I explain to Max. His confident smirk drops off his face. I stand and wait for his reaction.
"You're right." Max finally says. I look at him skeptically.
"I'm right?" I question. He's not even going to defend himself?
"Yeah. I play girls and I'm a jerk. I'm always traveling, which makes it hard to have a relationship so I just date random girls for short periods of time. I know that is no excuse, but that's why I'm such an asshole." Max tells me. "You're the only girl who has ever called me out."
"Well somebody had to say it." I reply instantly. This comment makes him smile.
"I really do like you." Max says. I roll my eyes.
"You don't know me, Max!" I try stressing to him.
"And you don't know me! Maybe if you got to know me, then maybe you'd like me. Give me a chance." Max practically pleads. He sticks out his bottom lip to make an adorable pouty face. He's so cute, no wonder every girl falls for him. I kinda get it now, but I'm not falling for his games.
"No thanks. I'll see you around, Max." I tell him before I turn to walk away. I leave Max standing there with his jaw on the floor. I think for the first time in his life he doesn't know what to say.
And I wonder does it blow your mind
That I'm leaving you far behind
